Shuttle Atlantis Poster
« on: 03/25/2016 12:30 am »
Does anyone know why the Space Shuttle Atlantis poster does not include the flight crew patch of STS-135?
Thank you.

135 was a bonus last mission approved at the last minute.  132 was supposed to be Atlantis's last flight.  They probably never got around to updating these after 135 got approved.

The poster was published July 29, 2010. The STS-135 patch wasn't published until January 27, 2011.

The wiki link is to an outdated version. Not only was the STS-135 emblem added, but the orbiter itself was corrected to be a real photo of Atlantis (as opposed to a manipulated photo of Discovery). You can see the final version hanging in the firing room here: http://mediaarchive.ksc.nasa.gov/#/Detail/19957
