Official confirmation from LandSpace, with video: https://weibo.com/6507732051/NCzPB4pQQ

This is so cool! Hoppy has a cousin, and one that doesn't look like a water tower. ;)

Is there any indication if they're moving next to an in-flight engine restart test?

Well, more than one cousin already, although competitor i-Space's Hyperbola-2Y (also using methane/LOX) is somewhat smaller.

LandSpace does mention the engine on this as in-flight restart-able so I think that will be tested eventually.

The boom turns out to be from LANDSPACE's cryogenic tank rupture test. The tank failed under 0.65MPa. m.guancha.cn/politics/2024_…

Forgive me if I get any information wrong since English is not my first language.

Jean Deville seems to be in contact with Landspace and have new information.

Landspace will attempt to do first stage recovery on maiden launch of Zhuque-3 in late 2025. Only other Chinese company who will attempt this on maiden launch is Deep Blue Aerospace I think.

Some Zhuque-3 will be launched from Jiuquan. Landspace will contruct multiple booster landing site in Inner Mongolia and Qinghai to recover these booster.

Activity nearby Landspace's Zhuque-2 launch pad may be a sign of work beginning on a launch pad to support the company's larger Zhuque-3 rocket.

ZQ-3 transportation & erection vehicle. It looks like the payloads with upstage will be lifted to the erected rocket by crank sitting at the top of the tower. via LandSpace patents
Interesting that they will install payload and upperstage with crane after the vehicle is erected. Wonder why they choose this method. Also wonder how much the launch pad will cost, look a lot more complex than any launch pad plan or built by Chinese private sector.

Zhuque 3 stainless steel body being manufactured. Though as noted by Raz Liu its kinda look smaller than 4.5 meter diameter rocket body. Perhaps they are just testing their manufacturing process?

I was reading Sino Defense Forum thread (sometime interesting news appear there) and there was a video touring Landspace facilities this caught my eye.

I wonder if this is from that failed test. I used google translate and it seems it might be related.

This is, indeed, a static pressure test article after testing.

LANDSPACE is expected to conduct the 10km VTVL test flight of the Zhuque-3 prototype today. Some significant reusability tests will be carried out:
🔵 Transonic attitude control by engine/grid fins/cold gas thrusters
🔵 Reignition under high dynamic pressure
🔵 Glide under high
