Safe Recovery! Yuanxingzhe-1 Test Rocket Successfully Returns to Factory in Good Condition!

At 04:42:05 on May 29, 2025, Yuanxingzhe-1, the test rocket of Space-Epoch, completed its first maritime recovery at the Oriental Spaceport, accurately splashing down in the predetermined sea area.

Following the Maritime Recovery and Return-to-Factory Procedures, the rocket underwent six stages—autonomous passivation, simulated search and positioning, salvage and securing, towing and hoisting, onshore cleaning, and factory inspection—completing the entire salvage and cleaning process in 18 hours before being transported back to the facility. Preliminary inspections confirmed that the stainless-steel rocket body remained intact with no leaks, while the engines and electrical systems in the tail section were in good condition.

This marks Space-Epoch’s first successful closed-loop validation of the full process—from launch and recovery to precise splashdown, salvage, cleaning, and factory inspection—accumulating valuable experience and safety data for maritime recovery operations. It lays a solid foundation for the upcoming "maiden orbital launch + recovery" mission of the Yuanxingzhe-1 launch vehicle. Next, the rocket will undergo disassembly and inspection, with key components such as fuel tanks, engines, servo mechanisms, valves, and gas cylinders being tested and evaluated to further verify reusability. Stay tuned for updates!

Space-Epoch remains committed to safe and sustainable development, upholding strict safety standards and rigorous quality control to steadily advance the maiden flight of the Yuanxingzhe-1 launch vehicle, contributing to breakthroughs in China’s reusable rocket technology.

The vehicle is called XZH-2. This presumably stands for Xingzhe Hai (行者海 Sea Walker).

Nothing new

There is something previously not mentioned, the engine used was LY70005.
“本台发动机(代号为LY70005)于2023年底完成校准试车,为龙云交付飞行的首台发动机”
“This engine (code name LY70005) was calibrated and tested at the end of 2023, and is the first engine to be delivered for flight by Longyun.
