Author Topic: Big Falcon Hopper onwards - Starship Hopper, Starship, Super Heavy Render thread  (Read 872751 times)

A lot of people are creating great renders of the new vehicles, so here's a thread for them to be posted on.

Rules: If you create a render yourself, upload it as normal but note it's yours. If it's someone elses, absolutely make sure you correctly and fully accredit. I'm not totally sure about also attaching it to the post, so I'd say only do that if it's totally required (like how instagram doesn't auto-display like Twitter does).

These model images relating hopper to final Starship are great too:

Put my 3D modeling skills to work and created an image how @SpaceX's finished #StarHopper and #StarShip could look like based on reference images and @elonmusk's tweets. Those things are massive!

@Erdayastronaut thought you might like as well

Renders by myself over the last few days as the Starship Hopper took shape.

What SpaceX envisioned vs what they got. Personally, I prefer the one on the right. Credit SpaceX and Nomadd.

The first render includes F9 in the mix:

Have to say I didnt expect this kinda response when I posted the last pictures. Thank you for your support!
I've spent my day pushing new images and models so there is more to come.

Mine Starhooper versions

Elon explained that the boxes around the engines are external cargo containers. I don't think the Hopper will have them.
You want to be inspired by things. You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great. That's what being a spacefaring civilization is all about. It's about believing in the future and believing the future will be better than the past. And I can't think of anything more exciting than being out there among the stars.

They looks good in the 3D-model

It might make sense to have fixed surfaces that match the approximate dimensions of the cargo containers on the hopper for better aerodynamic fidelity though, in case there's any weird differences between having them and not having them affecting engine relights or what have you.

Possible. But in this case the full set of engine bells would seem more important...

Nice illustrative rendering.  Helps me visualize how the 3 Raptor configuration looks like it could provide roll control while minimizing "fin" impingement.  Liking the almost "atlas-esque" reflections on the stainless surfaces.

Also liked the inclusion of the cargo pods ballast at the base.

Debating rendering choices really isn't that interesting.  This is a Render thread.

Nice work ace5.  Really appreciate your contribution.

Latest adjustment on the fin shrouds. I've also used the same pose as SpaceX's CGI render of the StarHopper.

I thought two of the fins would be movable.  Doesn't look like it on the Hopper version.   I thought they would test side entry with the Hopper version, since it was supposed to act like a skydiver.

No indication of that in the SpaceX render.
