2nd Nanosat Launcher Challenge Seminar
« on: 08/30/2011 10:44 pm »
The 2nd Team Phoenicia/Techshop Nanosat Launcher Challenge Seminar is in support of the Nanosat Launcher Challenge funded by NASA.  The event will be taking place at Team Phoenicia's The Shipyard and Techshop - Menlo Park (150 Independence Dr and 120 Independence Dr, Menlo Park, CA, respectively) on November 12th and 13th, 2011.

The Nanosat Launcher Challenge is part of the Centennial Challenge Program and will require a team to have two successful to orbit launches of two 1 kg cubes within a single week.  The first place prize is for $2 million.

Last year Team Phoenicia and Techshop hosted the preliminary seminar which NASA, the FAA, launch and testing facilities and others laid down the requirements for teams to participate as well as the potential markets after winning the challenge.  The presentations can be found here and video of the presentations is available on Team Phoenicia's youtube channel.  Meals and drinks will be provided.

This year the second seminar will expand on these themes and add more information and presentations  about the markets and launch/test sites.  Furthermore, up to five potential suppliers to the teams and ten of the would-be teams will be allotted time to present on a first come, first serve basis.

The draft agenda is available, but will be subject to revision.

Registration is required and opens September 1st.  The link is here. Please follow the instructions to completion.  Incomplete registrations are not valid.
