Media Invited to View Space Station-Bound Earth Science Instrument with NASA’s Associate Administrator

Media are invited to meet with NASA Associate Administrator Robert Lightfoot during a visit to NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., at 1:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 2.

During the visit, Lightfoot and media will see the hardware for the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment III/ISS (SAGE III/ISS), an instrument scheduled for launch to the International Space Station in March 2015 to study the Earth's atmosphere.

Following the tour, Lightfoot will be available to answer questions about the mission, the agency's Earth Science program and NASA's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2015.

Media need to contact Michael Finneran at 757-864-6110 or [email protected] no later than noon April 2 for credentials and entry to the center.

SAGE III/ISS is scheduled to fly to the space station on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The instrument will measure ozone, water vapor and aerosols in Earth’s atmosphere from its unique perch on the exterior of the station.
