SAT-STA-20250411-00099QuoteXM Radio LLC (“XM Radio”) respectfully requests special temporary authority (“STA”) for a 180-day period beginning July 1, 2025, to permit relocation of the XM-3 Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service space station to 64.0° W.L. and to maintain the satellite there with an east-west station-keeping tolerance of +/- 0.1 degrees to complete propellant venting in preparation for the satellite’s retirement.1...1 XM Radio expects operation under this requested STA would not commence until August 2025, if not later. However, the same limited earth station resources are necessary both for operation under this request for STA and for in-orbit testing of the SXM-10 satellite, currently scheduled for launch between June 6, 2025, and June 12, 2025. If the SXM-10 launch is substantially delayed, Sirius XM will want to advance the date of operation under this request to no earlier than July 1, 2025, to take advantage of the window of availability of earth station resources.
