If the reuse test program is successful then this core (0028) may not require extensive testing. The same is even more true for 0027. So hopefully these threads will be quite short. Suggest consolidating the reuse test program into 1 thread?

Short, until it lands again and gets ready for a 3rd flight.

I like the idea of one thread per core.  We may eventually (a ways down the road) end up with a thread for each core as they rack up 1,2,3,4,5,6... flights.

That is a good idea, and you are correct about the testing, but I would keep a close look on this booster's future.

Do the cores get renumbered when relaunched?  If they keep the same designation, I would recommend the thread title including the name of the mission (e.g. F9-S1-0028/JCSAT-16) since we will, optimistically, have multiple threads for the same core being refurbished. Just a thought.

Just a note... Go Quest and Elsbeth III are around 30 km east of the Cape as of 7am local Wednesday.
Is this the thread that will track the S1 return to port?

I think we can use the ASDS main thread - https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39766.msg1570048#msg1570048 - until the booster is off the ASDS - and then this one when in processing? We can do that, but yeah, we should work on a central thread for stage returns, rather than one thread per stage as there's clearly a number making it home these days.

The SpaceX rocket should be coming into port in a bit.  We are going to try to keep the Jetty Park cam fixed on:

I suppose we'll get to see them use their new Falcon Transport System too?

Um, hello...

Anyone care to explain what that "Thing" (trademark) is on top of the right-hand stand? I, an astute stage stalker, have not seen it before.

Is this the thing you speak of? I am also unsure what it is and do not recognize it from past recovery coverage.

Kind of looks like a windsock just below it. Why would there be a windsock there?

That windsock has been there since the first S1 came into port. I would assume wind speed and direction is something you want to know when lifting large swaying objects.

So if the sock swings around in your direction.... GTFO?

So is it a clue to what the mystery thing is, or just random placement that brings them together.
