Perun apogee was expected to be 50 km. From the images below, they might have achieved that.

Two suborbital missions scheduled for last week has been indefinitely postponed: RockOn/RockSat-C from Wallops Island due to bad weather and HIFLIER from Esrange about which there have been no updates at all.

There's going to be another launch of BOLT (Boundary Layer Turbulence) in 2024, this time from Australia. There is an upcoming non-classified in-person and Zoom presentation on BOLT from the AIAA Adelaide Section by Dr. Bradley Wheaton (Applied Physics Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University) at 08:30 UTC on 18 September.

The Polish company Space Forest is going for another suborbital launch next week. The first one in June reached a 22 km apogee, the expected one for this launch is 150 km.

There's an ongoing launch campaign at Esrange. The HIFLIER rocket, initially scheduled for a June launch window, is currently at the launch site with a liftoff planned for 12:30 UTC today. Link of the live stream below:

There's also a new updated version of the Esrange launch programme, which should be regarded as the most reliable source about upcoming launches in that location since the schedule on the SSC website hasn't been updated in months and SSC itself doesn't seem keen on giving updates on launch activities on their social media profiles.

HIFLIER-1 mission launched this morning at 08:00:00 UTC using a S-31/Improving Orion sounding rocket.

"Congratulations @SpaceForest2 ! But... space is hard 🤜🤛 The Perun rocket took off from the Military Training Ground in Ustka yesterday, Tuesday, October 10, at 12:10 p.m. as planned.

The system for maintaining the correct trajectory of the rocket, which has been improved compared to previous tests, worked perfectly. In the 28th second of the flight, after reaching the ceiling of 10 km, an engine failure occurred 💥 SpaceForest engineers decided to abort the flight, as a result of which Perun finally rose to 12 km, and then safely descended into the Baltic Sea, where it was picked up from the water and transported to land.

This is literally rocket science. Space is difficult. Valves, seals, material stresses - everything in a rocket behaves differently on Earth and differently during flight, where incredible speeds are achieved. That's what tests are for. And from yesterday's event, despite not achieving the assumed ceiling of 60 km, further conclusions were drawn and lessons for the future ✌️

So, Poland can into space? The SpaceForest team is already preparing for the next, 3rd attempt 🙌 Big congratulations to the engineers for the constant fight to reach the Karman Line (100 km)!

FTM-48 Vigilant Wyvern was performed on 25 October near Kauai. There were two BQM-177A, two SRBM, two SM-3 Blk IA and four SM-2 Blk IIIA launches. Anybody recognise the SRBM?

The orange missile is a BQM-117A drone. The BQM-74 has straight wings while the BQM-117A has angled wings. The BQM-74 inlet is under the wings while the BQM-117A inlet is forward of the wings. What I still don't know is what the SRBM (the missile below the orange drone) is.
