It was supposed to launch on the weekend aboard SpaceX Rideshare 8, but have not been about to find any news of it's status. Their website has nothing except another launch date in 140 days: https://ivolimited.us/launch/

Odds are probably a scheduling issue with their rideshare provider, but they might have been not prepared early enough for integration. There's plenty of shuffling around the various rideshare coordinators under normal circumstances due to some customers paying express fees, plus with Spaceflight Inc being effectively banned from SpaceX flights, their customers had to hop over to other integrators which screwed up everyone's schedules.

There is this explanation given on the Mike McCulloch's blog :

Turned out that that was a problem with the unit, so it would have failed had it been launched, so they will be changing the bus for a good one and putting it on the next flight. The drive itself was functional. Better to do this than show a failure in orbit, which most people would interpret as the drive itself failing.

Yep, sad this happened and we need to wait longer for a space test, but errors happen. Good that it was caught before the launch.

A power supply failure : this happens in space business ...

at about 17:40, he says it's a quarter of a millinewton of force for the drive.

I believe that's for 10W of input, so 25uN/W.

Compare to a solar sail, which is 8uN/m² at Earth and a m² of solar incidence at Earth is one kW, so 8nN/W.

So 300x the force of a solar sail per watt.

An easily achievable 100kW of solar cells would generate 2.5N, which for a 2,500kg/spacecraft would give an acceleration of 1mm/sec² or for one day 86.4m/sec.

Going to need about an order of magnitude improvement to be usable for interplanetary travel.

At about 23:30 he says "These things are very low power - less than 1 watt" but he doesn't say how much less.

Thanks, I must have misheard. Recalculating for 1W:

so 250uN/W.

Compare to a solar sail, which is 8uN/m² at Earth and a m² of solar incidence at Earth is one kW, so 8nN/W.

So 30,000x the force of a solar sail per watt.

An easily achievable 100kW of solar cells would generate 25N, which for a 2,500kg/spacecraft would give an acceleration of 10mm/sec² or for one day a velocity of 860m/sec.

that's enough for interplanetary travel.

I see you calculated acceleration. Can you tell me, did you use mass of the craft in the calc?

yes, 2,500kg (mostly the solar cells)

Well Transporter 9 launched so I guess it's up there now. Just waiting for results which could be at least a month away

That assumes it got deployed. There have been some past rideshare payloads that failed to deploy from whatever is hosting their deployment mechanism, for various and sundry reasons.

Let me be the one to insert a very, very large amount of caution here.

The quoted post above refers to both Shawyer and McCulloch which made me smile as we know that the EMDrive by Roger Shawyer was debunked and does not work.

So when you quote two less trustworthy people to promote an IVO "drive" then that puts the IVO work in the same category as Cold fusion or the fake fusion device "E-Cat" by Mr Rossi in Italy.

So far, the IVO "drive" has all the hallmarks of a science scam like the cold fusion and Rossi's E-Cat. Generate hype to ask for money. You might like for comparison this read In Cold Fusion 2.0, Who's Scamming Whom?.

PS: And before an IVO supporter start with the inevitable "but, but, but", I have seen people get hurt when they follow science scams and therefore will provide the counterpoint to insert caution.
