Two amazing photos from Paolo - R2 & SLEEPR being moved into the Lab, and the Cupola photographed by Steve Bowen during EVA-2! :)

New frames, processing and analyses of this observation:

Newly selected frames from the video sequence show a higher resolution view of the spacewalker position near the Columbus Laboratory. The comparing image mid, top is a NASA-tv screenshot from a camera on the docked Discovery from several minutes after the pass, while the position of the astronaut was still comparable. Note that this picture is only usable to compare the approximate position of the astronaut and not for comparing the lighting conditions as the station was already in the Earth shadow. Also note that the view from the Shuttle camera shows another perspective, like you are using a wide-angle lens with the object close to the lens. The view from the telescope is like an enormous telephoto lens with the object in this case at a distance of 357.6 km. This difference in perspective causes a shift in visibility of the details.

Hi all,

Maybe I'm into the wrong forum here, but I had problems replying on the STS-133 EVA-2 live forum were I already had posted some of my observations.

Here is an update of the ground-based observation of EVA-2 with Steven Bowen on the SSRMS;
