Thanks for posting this report. A great read although I only had time for a quick glance. Looks interesting, hoping to find more experimental evidence.

Here's the original report, which I found by Googling the filename which led to this post by rfmwguy from 2015.

Pro Tip: you can view all attachments from a user by clicking/tapping their name, then View Posts, then Attachments.  If you're logged in then this should list all the files ever posted by rfmwguy.

As to your "Posts/Attachments" notif:  This is a relatively new feature, meaning I never noticed it some five or more years ago.  They've been quietly adding features to the site software package over the years.
Sometimes I just flat out don't get it.
