浙江首颗海洋卫星年内发射,它将发挥什么作用?
Quote
Zhejiang’s first ocean satellite will be launched within this year. What role will it play?

Zhejiang is the province with the longest coastline and the largest number of islands in China.

A few days ago, Chao News reporters learned from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Marine Economic Development that Zhejiang’s first ocean satellite has been successfully developed and is expected to be launched in the second half of the year.

Ocean satellites are a powerful tool for humans to navigate the oceans, and they are also an important infrastructure for maritime scientific research. However, Zhejiang currently has no ocean satellite in orbit. The ocean satellite planned to be launched this year is also a satellite completely manufactured in Zhejiang.

At present, satellites have four main uses: remote sensing, communications, navigation, and scientific experiments. From government management to civilian applications, there are many complex problems for which solutions can be found through satellites.

Last year, in response to the needs of remote sensing monitoring of water quality in the seawater system, estuaries, bays, and coastal waters of Zhejiang Province, as well as remote sensing inspection of sewage discharge into the sea, Hangzhou Dianzi University (referred to as "Hangdian") and the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources (referred to as " With the support of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology's "Pioneer" and "Leading Goose" research and development projects, some advantageous units in satellite research and development in Zhejiang Province, including the "Second Institute of Oceanology") and Hangzhou Institute of Science and Technology of China, jointly established the project to develop Zhejiang Province's first ocean satellite. This is A 70kg high-resolution optical small satellite can not only be used for land and sea coordination and coordinated pollution and carbon inspection in Zhejiang Province, but can also further promote the upgrading of Zhejiang’s “digital economy”.

It is understood that the satellite was designed with key parameters and indicators demonstrated by the Second Institute of Oceanology. Hangzhou Electric and Zhejiang University jointly designed and manufactured the satellite platform and communication system with the Geely Group Star Intelligent Satellite Factory. The Hangzhou Higher Institute of Science and Technology of China developed the satellite payload. All work was carried out in Zhejiang Completed within the province. This ocean satellite has a design resolution of 10 meters (currently the highest among similar satellites in my country is 20 meters) and a width of 200 kilometers. Its comprehensive indicators are world-leading. Its mission uses a satellite-borne edge computing module, which is the first in the country. It has 8 channels of visible light and The spectral coverage of 2-channel shortwave infrared can meet the needs of both military and civilian use. Due to the adoption of the currently internationally popular industrialized device integration system, the cost has been significantly reduced to nearly 1/10 of the traditional satellite manufacturing model.

Currently, the ocean satellite platform and payload have been developed. The expected debut time is July 2024, and the launch time is expected to be September this year.

While developing the first ocean satellite, the joint working group also carried out preliminary research on the planning and related applications of the second and third ocean satellites, and carried out high-resolution infrared spectrum imaging, intelligent real-time processors, high-resolution Research on key core technologies such as remote sensing monitoring of water quality and ocean carbon flux, high-frequency low revisit interval all-day remote sensing hybrid constellation. According to the head of the joint working group, the second and third Zhejiang Ocean Satellites are expected to be delivered in 2025-2026. After the three ocean satellite constellations are networked, they can conduct remote sensing inspections of the coastal zones of my country's coastal provinces and cities with a resolution of 10 meters and once every five days, breaking the "stuck" situation of high-resolution ocean remote sensing.
Maybe we can call the payload Zhejiang Haiyang-1 (浙江海洋一号).

Tianlu-1 satellite launched successfully

At 12:07 on January 17, my country successfully launched the Tianlu-1 satellite into space using the Long March 2D carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit and the launch mission was a complete success. Tianlu-1 satellite is a mid-to-high-level atmospheric limb detection remote sensing satellite developed by Galaxy Aerospace, and the user is the Jianghuai Frontier Technology Collaborative Innovation Center.

In response to the "bottleneck" problems such as the late start of my country's mid-to-high-level atmospheric environment remote sensing payload and the lack of controllable environment models, the Tianlu-1 satellite R&D team has developed advanced means and technologies for mid-to-high-level atmospheric detection through independent research and development platforms and payloads, and systematically obtained mid-to-high-level atmospheric space data sets with vertical profiles as the main feature. The satellite has high vertical resolution, multi-parameter, all-weather observation characteristics, and has design features such as high payload and platform mass ratio and high product maturity.
The Tianlu-1 is that Daqi Tance Yangao Sat.

Jiuquan: Pakistan's PRSC-EO1 satellite was launched successfully!

At 12:07 on January 17, 2025, the Long March 2D carrier rocket ignited and launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, sending Pakistan's PRSC-EO1 satellite into the predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.

China Great Wall Industry Corporation (Great Wall Company), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and Pakistan's Space and Extraordinary Research Commission (SUPARCO) signed a multiple launch service contract for Pakistan's remote sensing satellite constellation in 2022. The international launch service team of Great Wall Company innovatively adopted a mixed international and domestic carpooling method to design a launch plan that combines technical reliability and commercial competitiveness. It stood out in the fierce international competition and eventually won the favor of Pakistan. The Pakistan PRSC-EO1 satellite launched this time is the first satellite of the remote sensing satellite constellation planned by SUPARCO. The constellation currently plans a total of 3 optical remote sensing satellites, all of which will be provided with launch services by Great Wall Company. In addition, Great Wall Company also undertook the launch and orbital measurement and control guarantee mission of the PRSC-EO1 satellite.

Pakistan's PRSC-EO1 satellite was developed by SUPARCO. The satellite is equipped with a high-resolution optical payload. The remote sensing data obtained will serve Pakistan's land surveying, agricultural classification assessment, urban and rural planning, environmental monitoring, natural disaster monitoring and management, surveying, natural resource protection and other fields.

This mission also carried the Tianlu-1 satellite developed by Galaxy Aerospace Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. for the Jianghuai Frontier Innovation Technology Center, and the Blue Carbon-1 satellite (Hangzhou Dianzi Zhisuan-1 satellite) developed by Zhejiang Space-Time Daoyu Technology Co., Ltd. for Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology

Pakistan is the country with the longest history of cooperation with my country in the field of aerospace and the most extensive fields. The successful implementation of the PRSC-EO1 satellite project is another milestone in the cooperation between China and Pakistan in the field of aerospace. It is not only a vivid manifestation of the friendship between China and Pakistan, but also a concrete practice of the community of shared destiny between China and Pakistan. It will further consolidate and deepen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan.

The Long March 2D carrier rocket used in this launch is a two-stage liquid carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is mainly used to carry out LEO and SSO orbit satellite launch missions, with a 700km SSO orbit carrying capacity of 1,300kg. This launch is the 95th launch of the Long March 2D carrier rocket.

Great Wall Company is a commercial organization authorized by the Chinese government to engage in commercial launch services, on-orbit delivery of satellite systems and space technology cooperation. In recent years, under the unified planning of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Great Wall Company has applied its many years of international project operation experience to domestic projects and launched the "Long March Express" launch service brand, which can provide fast, stable and reliable "one-stop" high-quality services for domestic and foreign customers.

Since the Long March rocket successfully entered the international market in the 1990s, Great Wall Company has completed 57 international commercial launches and launched 74 international commercial satellites (including 14 on-orbit deliveries of communication satellites and 5 on-orbit deliveries of remote sensing satellites). In addition, Great Wall Company also provided 22 international launch services, launching 29 international payloads (including 2 in-orbit deliveries of remote sensing satellites).

This launch was the 556th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
The Lantan-1 (蓝碳一号)also named as Hangdian Zhisuan-1 (杭电智算一号)

【Zhejiang's first ocean satellite was successfully launched! 】
At 12:07 on January 17, my country successfully launched Pakistan's PRSC-EO1 satellite using the Long March 2D carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit and the launch mission was a complete success. The mission also carried and launched the Tianlu-1 satellite and the Blue Carbon-1 satellite.

Among them, the Blue Carbon-1 satellite is the first ocean satellite in Zhejiang Province, and Space-Time Daoyu Technology [Geely's Geespace] participated in the satellite research and development, design and production. The satellite is under the overall responsibility of Hangzhou Dianzi University [Hangzhou Electronic Science and Technology University], and the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources (Ocean Institute 2) demonstrated key parameters. The payload was developed by University of Science and Technology of China Hangzhou Institute of Advanced Studies [HIAS-UCAS], and Space-Time Daoyu Technology [Geely's Geespace] was responsible for the satellite platform. The satellite was completely planned, designed, manufactured and applied by Zhejiang Province from the top level, and is an important infrastructure for marine scientific research and environmental monitoring.

As a completely "Zhejiang-made" ocean satellite, "Blue Carbon No. 1" is specially developed for ocean remote sensing monitoring. It has technical advantages such as long-term autonomous operation, high load-to-weight ratio, and strong platform versatility, providing "new quality" support for Zhejiang Province's ecological environment protection and marine resource management.

Geely Satellite Super Factory fully participates in manufacturing tasks, demonstrating its strength of "making satellites like making cars". The factory has an annual production capacity of 500 satellites and produces 1-2 satellites per day, reducing satellite manufacturing costs by about 45%, setting a new benchmark for the large-scale development of the commercial aerospace industry.

The rocket also carried two other satellites, namely Tianlu-1 and Lantan-1.

“I congratulate SUPARCO on launching Pakistan’s indigenous electro-optical satellite today,” Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said in a social media post.

He described it as a “significant milestone” in the country’s space journey. Dar was hopeful that it would enhance Pakistan’s ability to monitor natural resources, and predict and respond to natural disasters. It is expected to support food security through “precision cropping” and drive economic growth through “informed decision-making.

“Launch of indigenously manufactured EO Satellite is a testament to SUPARCO’s expertise and the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to pursue space technology for peaceful purposes,” it said.
EO-1 equipped with a high-resolution camera: expert

“This is a historic milestone for Pakistan,” Zain Bukhari, an expert at the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), told Associated Press of Pakistan earlier this week.

“EO-1 is equipped with a high-resolution camera that will capture detailed images of Earth, offering multiple applications. It is the first satellite fully designed and manufactured locally by SUPARCO’s engineers, demonstrating the nation’s capability to achieve self-reliance in space technology.”

He went on to add that the satellite has undergone “rigorous testing” to ensure its operational readiness. “Friday’s launch is expected to be a proud moment for the entire nation,” he said.

Bukhari said that the satellites like EO-1 could provide crucial data in real-time during floods and earthquakes to assess damages.

The EO-1 satellite would enable precision farming by monitoring crops, assessing irrigation needs, predicting yields, and supporting food security initiatives, the state-run news agency reported.

For urban development, the satellite is expected to assist in tracking infrastructure growth, managing urban sprawl, and aiding city and regional planning efforts. In environmental monitoring and disaster management, it would provide timely updates on floods, landslides, earthquakes, deforestation, and land erosion.

It would also support extraction and conservation strategies for natural resources, including monitoring minerals, oil and gas fields, glacier recession, and water resources.
