Hong Kong and Macao members of the Municipal CPPCC and consultants on overseas Chinese affairs visited Haiyang Oriental Spaceport to feel the surging vitality of Yantai's high-quality development

On January 7, the Hong Kong and Macao members and consultants on overseas Chinese affairs who attended the fourth meeting of the 14th Yantai Municipal Committee of the CPPCC visited Haiyang City to inspect the aerospace industry.

The members and consultants came to the Oriental Spaceport and visited the Satellite Data Display Center, the Oriental Spaceport Launch Ship, the Galaxy Power Commercial Solid Launch Vehicle Innovation R&D Manufacturing Base and Jiutian Xingge Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. to gain an in-depth understanding of the development of the city's aerospace industry and feel the surging vitality of Yantai's high-quality development.

"What you are seeing now is a high-definition satellite image of Haiyang taken by the intelligent remote sensing constellation, with a resolution of up to 0.5 meters." Walking into the Satellite Data Display Center, the high-definition satellite images laid on the floor are eye-catching. Here, the guide introduced the development history of Haiyang City, the industrial layout of the Oriental Spaceport and the relevant situation of the satellite industry to the members and consultants, and everyone watched and communicated. "Before coming here, I learned that Haiyang has formed a complete industrial development chain, but I was curious about how such a huge chain was laid out. This visit answered my questions, and I was amazed at the completeness of its planning. Even the living facilities of employees were taken into consideration. It was really amazing." Sha Chao, a member of the Hong Kong Municipal CPPCC and general manager of Yantai Luliang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., said with emotion.

At 3 pm, the inspection team boarded the Oriental Spaceport launch ship. The afternoon sun shone on the sea, reflecting layers of golden waves. "We will use this launch ship to launch the Jielong 3 Haiyao 5 about three nautical miles offshore on the 13th. The scene will be very spectacular at that time. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the launch." The invitation of the staff instantly ignited everyone's enthusiasm. "The aerospace industry is a huge economic growth point that can drive a large number of related industries. The development of Yantai's aerospace industry has really exceeded my expectations. I am proud of my hometown." Liu Xudong, a member of the Hong Kong Municipal CPPCC, senior audit manager of Bank of China Hong Kong, and vice chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Talents and Professionals, said.

Afterwards, the committee members and consultants visited the rocket tank assembly workshop of Jiutian Xingge Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. and the general assembly and testing workshop of Galaxy Power in turn. Both workshops are very spacious, and the instruments for processing rocket tanks are particularly large. The Ceres-1 carrier rocket, which is about 20 meters long, placed in the Galaxy Power workshop is also very spectacular. Everyone stopped in front of these great weapons. "Yantai has developed too fast in recent years. As the only CPPCC member from Macau, I hope to actively promote the cooperation between Haiyang Oriental Spaceport and Macau University of Science and Technology and contribute to my hometown." Wei Lina, a member of the Macau CPPCC and a senior investment manager of Macau Yaoao Real Estate, said.

The one and a half hour inspection was spent in admiration. The atmosphere was warm and the interaction was frequent. The committee members and consultants said that they felt the surging momentum of Yantai's development through this inspection. In the future, they will "go home to visit" more often, actively seek cooperation opportunities, and contribute to the development of their hometown.
The launch will be on January 13.

The time for Haiyang sea rocket launch has been set!

It's settled! It's settled!
On the morning of January 13, a sea rocket launch mission will be carried out in the coastal waters of Haiyang. This launch mission is the Jielong-3 Yao-5 carrier rocket, which will use a one-shot ten-satellite sea launch method to send the 10 satellites of the Microcentispace 01 group into a LEO orbit at an altitude of 650 kilometers and an inclination of 55°. This launch is the fifth launch of the Jielong-3 carrier rocket and the sixth launch of the Jielong series of carrier rockets.
The payloads are Weili Kongjian 01A-J (微厘空间01组10颗).

A successful launch of ten satellites in one launch! The sea launch of the Jielong-3 Y5 carrier rocket was a complete success

On the morning of January 13, the Jielong-3 Y5 carrier rocket, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, ignited and launched in the offshore waters of Haiyang, Shandong Province. The launch mission was a complete success, with 10 satellites of the Micro-Space 01 Group being sent into the predetermined orbit in a one-shot, ten-satellite manner. Haiyang ushered in a good start for the first sea rocket launch mission in 2025, and also kicked off the prelude to high-density launch missions throughout the year.

It is reported that the Jielong-3 Y5 carrier rocket has a total length of about 31 meters and a total weight of about 140 tons. This time, it adopts a four-stage solid engine series layout and a "three horizontal and one vertical" hot launch method, namely horizontal docking, horizontal testing, horizontal transportation, and vertical hot launch after overall erection. The 10 mission satellites use a dedicated microsatellite platform, equipped with high-performance GNSS data acquisition, intersatellite laser communication and other payloads, mainly used for space environment data acquisition, intersatellite laser networking experiments, etc.

This mission is the first low-inclination orbit launch in the coastal waters of Haiyang. Liu Wei, deputy chief designer of Jielong-3, introduced that the landing area for the low-inclination orbit launch mission is safe and cost-effective, which can save the cost of sea voyage, shorten the technical preparation time, and improve the economy of the mission. This mission is also the one with the largest payload mass in all the Jielong-3 missions. Through overall optimization and implementation of solid engine performance improvement technology, the carrying capacity has been further improved, and the carrying capacity of Shandong Haiyang offshore launch can reach 1,600 kilograms.

To ensure the success of the launch, the scientific and technological personnel comprehensively sorted out and analyzed the low-temperature adaptability of each system before the implementation of the mission, adopted the winter ballistic wind correction design technology, strengthened the environmental protection capability in a targeted manner and completed the verification, and took multiple measures to ensure the environmental adaptability of the full profile of the product.

"This mission verified the rocket's ability to adapt to the severe cold at sea and the harsh natural environment of high-altitude wind in winter." Liu Wei said, "With the concerted efforts of personnel in various systems and positions, we successfully completed the first launch of the new year, which is a good start for this year."

Under the warm winter sun, the exciting sea launch made the spectators excited. Zhang Chen, a tourist who witnessed the entire process of ignition and takeoff, exclaimed, "The shocking feeling came to me. At this time, I realized that this is not a picture on TV, but a real rocket!"

In 2024, Haiyang Oriental Spaceport's sea launch mission "6 battles and 6 victories", and commercial satellites lined up to take the Haiyang ship and Haiyang arrow "express delivery" to the sky. With the successful launch of the Jielong-3 Yao-5 carrier rocket, Haiyang has cumulatively guaranteed 15 sea launch missions and sent 89 satellites into space. The status of my country's first sea launch mother port is increasingly consolidated, and it has the overall annual assembly and testing capacity of 50 carrier rockets and 50 rocket tanks.

Today, where the rocket is launched, a 10 billion-level commercial aerospace high-tech industry cluster is rising in an all-round way. In 2024, major projects of Haiyang Oriental Spaceport will be included in the aerospace industry development plans of the province and Yantai City. Supportive documents will be issued at the provincial level to help Haiyang's aerospace industry develop with high quality. 23 aerospace industry projects will be attracted with a total investment of 27.3 billion yuan, forming a "five-one" park service package of "one industry map, one platform, one team, one policy, and one fund". The production plants of enterprises such as Oriental Space and Galaxy Power will be completed and put into use, and the full system test of liquid rockets will be successfully carried out, and the rocket assembly and testing capabilities will be significantly improved. The Oriental Spaceport Science and Technology Museum has received more than 120,000 tourists in total and was rated as a patriotic education base for young people from Hong Kong and Macao in Shandong Province. The 2024 Industrial Development Conference, the Aerospace Information Academician Expert Forum, the Oriental Spaceport New Capabilities Release Conference, and the Satellite Remote Sensing Algorithm Competition were successfully held, and the influence of the Oriental Spaceport was further expanded...

Rockets are launched one by one, satellites are connected to the sky and the earth, and launch missions are successfully completed. Riding on the "east wind" of technological innovation and policy support, Haiyang's aerospace industry is gathering momentum and taking off.
