Tianwen-2: because of the unknown surface conditions of asteroid Kamoʻoalewa, the spacecraft had 3 sample modes. -Hover Sampling: Probe uses robotic arm while matching the asteroid's rotation and hovering ~1 m above the surface
-Touch-and-Go Sampling:
A rotating-brush sample head briefly contacts the surface
-Anchored Sampling:
Probe deploys landing legs and presses into surface, if surface strength and terrain allow
