Looks like Spacex is looking for some new employees. Open positions list. Hopefully they can hire some of the laid off workforce.

One of the NASA CCDev PDF's showed SpaceX's partners but they were  blacked out. Later a ppt by NASA's Maria Collura let all 9 cats out of the bag.

ILC Dover, Oceaneering International and Orbital Outfitters are three of SpaceX's partners. ILC Dover and Oceaneering are partnered in creating a suit for MPCV and Orbital Outfitters is working with XCOR on suits for Lynx II.

By my count that's 126 jobs and some of these seem to be pretty good positions.

There's always Orbital Outfitters.

"Responsibilities...Preparing a list of space suit requirements to be submitted to industry for bid."

Sounds like they want to design a suit, but not make it in-house.

At the very least, they may want these subcontractors to help with Dragon-to-suit interfaces, which would explain why all three major suit makers are listed. That way, SpaceX can accomadate their customers regardless of which suit they preffer.

It will probably only support one suit.

Per mission or vehicle? Yes. For the life of the program, probably not.

There is an opening for a web developer. Perhaps that's why their site doesn't get updated very often.

No FL job openings listed on that page (unfortunately) - perhaps they are done hiring  in FL for now.

Can you elaborate because I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

Oceaneering huh. I would have nominated Cal-Dive instead. Unless, as prestigious as it might be, Cal-Dive wanted nothing to do with it. Sticking with what they know.
I am not a professional. Just a rational amateur dreaming of mankind exploiting the universe.

Do we need a SpaceX spacesuit speculation/discussion thread?
