HMS Spanker ? it had to be a misprint, but when I looked at the relative page there it was, HMS Spanker, minesweeper. I turned back to the index and soon discovered that HMS Spanker was not the only warship to bear a silly name. A quick check unearthed the destroyers HMS Fairy and HMS Frolic, the light cruiser, HMS Sappho and the corvette, HMS Pansy.

(from https://www.reddit.com/r/Warships/comments/3bh5ze/a_humorous_read_about_rn_ship_names/ ... )

I saw (but failed to find again) a list of really silly RN ship names that all start with I (which weren't actually used) but these supposedly were.

Here's a list from 2003, all starting with "In", which is a mix:

Hey, that list left off my favorite fake RN ship name, the HMS Insipid.

Fairing McFairingface

I doubt fairings would ever be named but if they were I think it would be named as a couple like 'Ralph and Alice'
 'Romeo and Juliet' etc.

In accordance with naming after British ships I would have to go with the Turbinia

Mainly due to it's demonstration to the Royal Navy.

The NSF calendar currently has a NET date of 5/31 for SpX-11 a NET date of 6/1 for SpX-12.
They are probably going to be demonstrating full and rapid re-use of the same first stage :-)

They could just use a speedboat with a winch on the back.
Hook on the the para-foil harness and bring it back like a para sailor.

Are we going to start naming fairings yet?
Bob.
Could we name it Bruce instead? Bob could be confusing. Bob is a palindrome though.

Between Bob and fairings named after couples, I can't help but ask whether the second stage (hypothetically reusable) can get its own name, too.  Why?  Because I'd love to see Abby Garrett draw a comic where a second stage shows up to do a job and says:

"Hi, I'm Larry.  This is my fairing Darryl, and this is my other fairing Darryl."

Plus, by then they'll need another pad set up for crew for the 12 flights around the moon each year.

So only when there is a full moon? ;D
Why would you want to go on a moon mission when it's only a crescent or worse a new moon when it's not even there!

I was saddened to discover that "HMS Humbug" was an invention of Patrick O'Brian but apparently his Spanish warship "Cacafuego" did have a name that had been used in fact.

Fred and Ginger

Reality is unless they start marking them,

Well. We could start by giving first stages names other than core 1032. At least for those who can fly again and arn't flown away (you fly them and dont throw them).
If SpaceX doesn't do it officially it is their loss and maybe they catch on  :D
Chris G could casually use our names at the next press conference when he asks a question to give the hint ;D
