ISRO’s heaviest launch vehicle lifted off from Sriharikota at 12:07 AM. LVM3-M2 in motion, as shot by me.

In case you missed it, this weekend, 36 OneWeb satellites were successfully launched by @ISRO & @NSIL_India from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

All 36 satellites are operational, bringing OneWeb’s total Gen 1 LEO constellation to 462 satellites.

This must have been a mission of staggering complexity, starting with the manufacture of the GSLV Mk 3 itself( with all the million and one components) , then the integration of the satellites, followed by the launch and deployment of the 36 satellites.

It would be nice to see a detailed technical write up on the mission!  "Frontline magazine", a publication of "The Hindu" newspaper in India, usually has fairly good reports on these events, mostly written by the journalist T.S Subramanian. There must be others somewhere!

A very good write up of this launch viewing in the travelogue section of Team BHP forum, a very popular and high quality automotive/travel forum in India.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travelogues/258350-isro-launches-36-satellites-through-lvm3-m2-i-able-see.html

I am mighty thrilled to see this intersection of two of my favorite forums.  ;D ;D ;D

Footage from space

Our launch partner, @isro, has provided some stellar onboard views of our OneWeb satellites being deployed during #OneWebLaunch14

Take a look at the video below.

Only OneWeb 0513 has started increasing its orbit so far.
The other 35 satellites are waiting, should they drift to another orbit plane?
