Sharing some early first looks from our newest 5-day-old SAR babies, UMBRA-09 and UMBRA-10, launched on Transporter-11 Friday.

Welcome to the family . . . and like any new baby, brace yourself for lots more pictures to come.

Has anything been heard from the D-Orbit ION or its RocketStar thruster experiment?

Has anything been heard from the D-Orbit ION or its RocketStar thruster experiment?

They announced a few days after launch that they were commissioning the spacecraft.  I wouldn't expect thruster experiments to be taking place yet

EagleEye is presumably dead?

So two problems: flaky power supply and bad TLEs.
The latter is understandable; the Transporter 11 payloads have not yet been cataloged by Space Force so they are presumably relying on SpaceX's post-deployment states, which are pretty stale after 11 days.

This is an ongoing problem with these rideshare launches:  long delays in getting orbit data, leading to inability to contact the satellite  during the first month of life, which all too often leads to loss of mission. Really needs to be addressed.

This is why our customers fly on Electron, orbital elements are provided immediately after separation with extremely high accuracy. Nobody should ever have to go looking for their spacecraft.

Do we have any information about the "undisclosed clients" satellites on ION SCV?
Sedna-1 is not on the brochure so I guess we have the first one... Last time they've announced some undisclosed passengers it was ELO 4 but I think ELO was discontinued

The pre-launch description from SpaceX (which has been changed on their site) said ION would have 8 payloads, 5 deployed at a later time.  We have 5 customer satellites listed.

Their page at https://www.dorbit.space/celestial-bliss-august-2024 says 5 satellites and four hosted payloads on board.

Also, always proofread the cover page.

From a SpaceXer:

To be clear, we also deliver extremely high accuracy orbital elements within minutes of spacecraft separation (pending telemetry coverage). The expedience of delivery of orbital data is not an Electron differentiator.

CelesTrak has 18 SDS GP data for 88 of 99+ objects from the launch (2024-149) of Transporter-11 atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB on Aug 16 at 1856 UTC: spacenews.com/spacex-launche…. Data for the launch can be found at: https://celestrak.org/NORAD/elements/table.php?INTDES=2024-149

CelesTrak shows excellent matches for 29 of 37 Planet satellites on the T-11 launch: https://celestrak.org/NORAD/elements/supplemental/table-matching.php?MATCHING=planet,2024-149. Five of the remaining ones are likely missing 18 SDS GP data. This should sort out quickly as more data becomes available.

📸 ❗ The ESA Arctic Weather Satellite has delivered its first images 🛰 These amazing images were captured by an AAC Clyde Space innovative scientific weather payload! 🔗 https://bit.ly/3MrZDvR

These first images show atmospheric temperature and humidity, aiming to improve short-term weather forecasts in the Arctic and around the world.

🛰 OHB Sweden is the mission prime for the Arctic Weather Satellite, which was launched on August 16, and is currently commissioning it. During the past week, the cross-track scanning microwave radiometer payload was turned on for the first time in space and the results looks truly amazing.

During the first two orbits, the following image was captured with the 89 GHz receiver, built by our partner ACST GmbH in Germany. The image is generated with the post processor developed by Deimos and RDA.
In the movie, the 54 GHz receiver shows the earth as the satellite flies southward over Scandinavia, Central Europe, the Mediterranean and then Africa.

Thanks to all of our partners for this great achievement 👏

From what I remember ELO 3 and 4 were not counted in the number of satellites on board on the brochures either. I checked for ION 11 (Above the Sky): 9 passengers are listed on the brochure, 10 were, in fact, deployed.
I think the TLE will be helpful to find out if there is any other customer!

25 more objects cataloged by @S4S_SDA @SpaceTrackOrg from the Aug 16 Transporter-11 launch - one more than I expected based on the number of known satellites deployed, unless @d_orbit ION has now ejected the @AACClydeSpace Sedna sat.

Celestrak shows 113 now, 77 named.  SATCAT on space-track.org isn't updated with the latest batch yet.

Sedna satellite has been deployed a couple of days ago, unfortunately I don't know more details about the exact date. So, we have all the objects tracked by space-track.org and many of them already identified.
