Here we come! Just before it was time to strap into my seat for docking, I caught a glimpse of the @Space_Station. This quick tablet photo doesn’t do it justice. It was beautiful. Like an intricate, sophisticated piece of jewellery shining in the black of space.

The @Space_Station crew has been busy conducting research! This past week they’ve tested the effects of spaceflight on hearing, monitored blood flow in the brain, and demonstrated the function of a medical diagnostic device in space.

NASA complained about "difficulties" due to anti-Russian sanctions.
NASA advisers: astronauts faced difficulties in work due to anti-Russian sanctions.
11:33 05/14/2022 (updated: 13:05 05/14/2022)
MOSCOW, May 14 - RIA Novosti. Western sanctions against Russia have begun to affect the work of NASA astronauts, the SpaceNews portal writes , citing US security advisers.
As noted at the meeting of the Aerospace Security Advisory Group, the partnership between the United States and Russia in the space industry is experiencing the effects of economic restrictions.
"The geopolitical sanctions that have been imposed on Russia and that we have seen over the past few months have created an environment in which some administrative difficulties are becoming apparent," said group member Susan Helms, a former astronaut.
Helms complained that foreign airlines are reducing or even canceling flights to Moscow , credit cards are not working due to the suspension of operations of foreign banks in Russia, and Microsoft has stopped selling its goods and providing services in the country.
But both sides are doing their best to maintain ties, Helms said. NASA , she said, "strongly" supports the idea of "cross-over flights" so that NASA astronauts fly on Soyuz spacecraft and Russian cosmonauts fly to the ISS on private Crew Dragons .
"The work, education and training in Moscow that is happening and always has been going on without any major interruption," said a member of the Advisory Group.
Anti-Russian sanctions
Western countries stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow after the start of a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine . First of all, restrictive measures affected the banking sector and the supply of high-tech products.
In Europe , calls to reduce dependence on Russian energy sources have become louder, and many brands have announced their withdrawal from Russia. The Kremlin called these measures an economic war, the likes of which have not yet been, but stressed that they were ready for such a development of events.

Roskosmos plans to send a ship to the ISS using an even shorter scheme.
Roskosmos plans to send the Progress spacecraft to the ISS in the autumn according to a shorter scheme.
12:14 14.05.2022
MOSCOW, May 14 - RIA Novosti. Roskosmos is going to send the Progress cargo spacecraft for the first time on the shortest possible single-orbit flight pattern to the International Space Station in the fall of 2022, Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of the state corporation, said.
"We will try to achieve a single-orbit flight pattern this fall," he said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel .
He specified that the scheme would first be tested on the Progress MS cargo ship.
In 2022, three Progress trucks will be launched to the ISS . The first has already arrived at the station on February 15, the second is due to leave on June 3. The third launch is scheduled for 26 October.
The two-day scheme is traditional, when the ship makes 34 revolutions around the Earth . A four-turn circuit is also used, which lasts about six hours. So far, several Progress MS cargo ships and two manned Soyuz have flown under the two-orbit (three-hour) scheme. The flight speed record was set by Soyuz MS-17 on October 14, 2020 - 3 hours 3 minutes.
Short flight patterns allow cosmonauts to fly to the ISS faster, and therefore more comfortable, given the small volume of the Soyuz spacecraft. In addition, doctors found that after 6-7 turns (9-10.5 hours) acute negative consequences of weightlessness begin - nausea, motion sickness. Reducing the flight time allows you to meet these features of space on a large station, and not in a small ship.
Short schemes can also be used when assembling a manned complex for flying to the Moon and in lunar orbit.

Roskosmos will not put its cosmonaut in the American spacecraft Starliner.
The head of Roskosmos, Rogozin, said that the corporation will not put its cosmonaut in Starliner.
12:20 14.05.2022
MOSCOW, May 14 - RIA Novosti. Russian cosmonauts will not fly on American Boeing Starliner spacecraft, even if they manage to negotiate cross-flights with NASA, Dmitry Rogozin, director general of the Roscosmos state corporation, said.
“He crashed for the first time. The second time he couldn’t fly at all. Now they will try to launch it, but we definitely won’t put any of our cosmonauts on it. We can’t risk their lives,” he said in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel " .
Rogozin specified that the initiative on the issue of cross-flights comes from NASA , as the Americans do not want to "lose their flight skills on Russian ships."
According to him, the discussion of the possibility of cross-flights to the ISS , that is, for one member of the crew of the Russian Soyuz MS to be an American astronaut in exchange for one Russian flying on the American Crew Dragon , began last year, when "the situation changed dramatically ".
"Some of our federal executive authorities reasonably believe that it is premature now to make a decision about these cross flights. This is one side of the matter. The second side of the matter is that we are confident in our ships ... on the ship (of the American entrepreneur Elon - ed.) Mask, big troubles happen, including the failure of the sewer system ... this is a life support system, this is not a joke, if these failures continue, it is difficult for us to make a decision on a cross flight, to send our girl to their ship," Rogozin added.
The first Russian cosmonaut to travel to the ISS on the American SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft Mask may be the only woman in the Russian cosmonaut corps Anna Kikina .

The ISS orbit was raised by 1.9 kilometers before the arrival of Progress MS-20.
Roscosmos: the ISS orbit was raised by 1.9 kilometers before the arrival of Progress MS-20.
05/14/2022 21:37 (updated: 05/14/2022 21:59)
MOSCOW, May 14 - RIA Novosti. The orbital altitude of the International Space Station (ISS) was raised by 1.9 kilometers on May 14 before the launch of the Progress MS-20 transport cargo ship to the station, Roskosmos reports .
"A few minutes ago, the height of the orbit of the International Space Station was adjusted before the launch of the Progress MS-20 spacecraft," the state corporation's Telegram channel said.
The planned correction of the orbit height of the International Space Station was carried out to form ballistic conditions before launching the Progress MS-20 transport cargo vehicle into orbit.
The engines of the Progress MS-18 cargo ship at 21.05 Moscow time turned on for 659 seconds and gave an impulse of 1.1 m/s. After the corrective maneuver, the average height of the station's orbit increased by 1.9 km and amounted to 418.22 km.
The launch of the Progress MS-20 truck to the ISS is scheduled for June 3, 2022 from Baikonur . The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with a cargo ship will be dedicated to the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics . The flags of the DPR , LPR and the image of a brave Ukrainian grandmother, who, with the flag of the USSR, refused to accept food from the Ukrainian military, will be applied to the nose fairing of the rocket. The inscription "Donbass" will be applied to the second stage of the launch vehicle.
The head of the Roscosmos state corporation, Dmitry Rogozin , also stated that he would invite children from Donbass to this launch .
