Need expert opinion: Gravity Ride (Android app)

Hi! Iíve developed mobile game Gravity Ride for android. It is about behavior of space ship in realistically modeled gravity filed.
I have one particular question about whether behavior of the trajectory in gravity field like one on the picture attached physically possible?
I have checked my calculations but this behavior seem counterintuitive to me because it first goes toward the planet and then bend it over instead of crashing the ship over planetís surface.
Is it possible or should I change calculation algorithm?

Not an expert but since gravity is r**2 it seems reasonable to me. As the vehicle approaches closer to the top mass of the 4 in a diamond, that mass dominates over the one at left and the bend changes direction. As long as there is enough initial velocity, I can see it passing by without impacting.

Someone who actually does this for a living might have a better explanation of why it's reasonable... or spot an error.
