Does anyone have an audio file of the telecon?  I missed it due to a meeting.

From what I read hear and elsewhere, I have questions.

Don't want to comment too much before I actually hear with my own ears.

From the press release leading to this media teleconference :

To participate in the call, reporters should dial 877-918-2312. The passcode is "Constellation." Replays of the call will be available until Sept. 1 by dialing 888-568-0902.

Question: what do you guys get if you dial 888-568-0902 (and use the passcode "Constellation" if asked for one) ?

Did you check John44's site? That'd be the only spot.

Don't see anything on John44's site, but I have called the number and it is working.  No passcode is needed to listen to the recording.

Thanks all.

NASA teleconference - update on the Constellation Program
http://www.space-multimedia.nl.eu.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4227&Itemid=2

very much appreciated.  i know a few people here that were interested in listening.

my only comment is this:  i would be wary, if i were in someone else's shoes, of committing to launch dates based solely budget confidence levels.

i'll say it before and i'll say it again - probability of completing the work for a certain cost is not the end-all-be-all.  you need to look at schedule risk/uncertainty as well.  after you get done with that, look at both cost & schedule jointly.  then go have a beer, to help with your headache.   :P

Yes.   Brilliant.   Someone who *really* understands.

Thank-you for posting that.   It's the best view of how complicated and integrated everything really is.   There are so many people who have an excellent understanding of one single aspect, or perhaps two if they're extremely lucky, but you seem to have a good grasp of the whole tapestry.

You are one of the very few who has clearly taken the time necessary to learn the importance of all the different aspects: Cost, schedule, technical, safety and all the other aspects involved.   You recognize that none of those work in a vacuum - that they all need to be balanced together in order to get a final result - that no aspect can be ignored if the whole is to function correctly.

Thank-you, again for reminding us all of the "big picture".

Ross.
