I want my Max-Q cap and sunglasses!!

While we don't have our own special sunglasses (we're just good shoppers ;) ), we do sell our Max-Q caps.  If anyone is interested, please e-mail me at [email protected] for details.

Hats off to you gentlemen!  You told a story that needed telling.  I've seen a few "behind the scenes" clips over the years of reporters at KSC but nothing compares to the level of detail you covered.  The production quality was excellent, content really told the story ( right down to the importance of the pre-launch potty break  ;) ) and the narration was perfectly suited to the action.

Bravo Max-Q!

Will get to watch this at the weekend, but already know it'll be good. The way this site and associated arms like MaxQ are organized is wonderful.

In the spring of 2010, we set out to make our first feature-length documentary film.  The adventures in which we’d been honored to take part for STS-129 inspired us to show everyone what we were up to at Kennedy Space Center.  From that, the “Press to MECO” project was born.

The idea started in the run up to STS-132 and scripts were written in the tail end of that year.  The production and narration recording started in December of 2010 and the editing process began in January of this year, but the bulk of the film’s assembly took place this summer.  We have many people to thank for this undertaking –

1. The entire team at Kennedy Space Center (both PAO and all KSC employees) for all their work to get us (and thus everyone who views this film) behind the scenes at KSC and allow us to do things we never would have thought possible even two years ago.
2. Brian Peck with Chicago’s WILV 100.3 Rewind radio station for narrating the film, being patient with us as we ran through a few re-writes of various scripts and letting his own enthusiasm show through his work!
3. Robert Pearlman, Todd Halvorson and David Waters, who happily took part in the project by sharing their own experiences and thoughts with us during STS-133’s launch countdown.
4. Everyone here at NASASpaceflight.com who supported our efforts over the years and pushed us to go harder and farther, and to better ourselves every step of the way.  This film is for all of you!

With that, we give you our “Press to MECO,” which runs 1 hour, 22 minutes and 50 seconds.  The film is available in 1080p and 720p resolutions in both its fully-assembled version and each individual part (the latter is for people with less-reliable internet connections who might not be able to download a huge file).

Download 1080p (3.2 GB) (Right Click, Save Target As...)

Download 720p (2.3 GB) (Right Click, Save Target As...)

We know these files are large, but we hope you’ll take the time to download the full film.  For those who wish to watch it in a lower-resolution format, here is a link to a streaming version on our website –

"Press to MECO" Streaming

For those still having trouble with either the downloads or the streaming, the video is available on youtube as well, in 10 parts.

WOW!  When you consider the Hollywood hype and nonsense surrounding the movie called "Apollo 18", it's refreshing to know about this documentary.
Thank you.

Very fun and engaging documentary. My only dislike was the music, which seemed to be all the same, unlike most of Max-Q's productions.

Very fun and engaging documentary. My only dislike was the music, which seemed to be all the same, unlike most of Max-Q's productions.

It was different scenario than our normal mission music videos.  We wanted this to be something that could be shown freely anywhere by anyone without the risk of copyright issues, so we were limited to using tracks to which we had rights.  Otherwise, we would have used our normal music.  Using copyrighted tracks before has cost us some opportunities with people in high places.  Hope this helps :)
