Successful launch November 11, 2019 at 0956 EST (1456 UTC) on Falcon 9 (booster 1048.4) from CCAFS SLC-40. ASDS landing was successful. The fairing catch was called off due to rough weather. Targeting deployment orbit of 280km. This flight reused the payload fairing from the Arabsat-6A mission.

Payload: First batch of 60 operational satellites with both Ku-band and Ka-band.

Will this second set of operational sats have any sat-to-sat laser links?

Or maybe two questions.

1) Will it have any sta-to-sat link for operation of the network?

2) Might it have any for testing the SpaceX tech, such as it is, at this stage in development?

Based on what Elon said before the previous launch, no.

They'll have to try that sometime but I doubt it will be this early.

Back on Aug 2 they were "currently targeting October 17 and November 4 respectively (L2)."

Based on recent comments, SpaceX seems to be thinking of planes of 22 satellites, with each launch supporting 3 planes. Is that going to be the case for V1?

That hasn't been approved yet, but if they want to try sticking with that plan pending approval they might just have to drift them into 3 planes a bit farther apart to stay within the current layout? Or put them in one plane and then drift them apart later (would probably use more fuel)?

SpaceX really shouldn't be counting on the FCC approving those changes before launching more satellites. That modification was just accepted for filing on September 13.

I don’t have a clue - but I’m willing to bet there’s no coincidence that during the same time JRTI, OCISLY, Go MissTree, and Go Miss Chief have been getting serviced and upgrades.
