My point is that 39C should not mentioned regarding the SS/SH stack, since what is called now 39C is a small pad (Electron class). 39A and 39B can be options, but has difficulties of different kinds. But you shuld not list 39C as you did in your original post.

However a new pad utilizing the original plans/place of the original 39C could be an option also. But as I know there may be some other projects for that area.

LC-39A is Spacex, LC-39B is SLS and LC-39C is unused.

I am afraid that LC-39C is not existing actually. As I know there had been a plan for a third Saturn class launch pad in tbe row, but only A and B have been built, and C had been cancelled. Check google maps, there are only two of the same kind.

There can be some confusion since there was a renumbering also (what we know as A was originally the C i think) and there is a small sat launcher stan next to the B whic reffered as C.

Actually they did build a 39C 5 years ago, it's a small rocket pad inside of 39B.

That is my understanding as well, though the area secondarily designated as 39C, and the previously potential sites 39D and 39E may still have development potential. Think I may have heard development may be more difficult now due to enviro regs. The current 39C is the 3rd site to have that designation.

Info on sites of Complexes 39C, 39D, and 39E on early map: http://enacademic.com/dic.nsf/enwiki/537807
