Apollo Ops Handbook Vol 2 (CSM)
« on: 12/30/2008 11:50 pm »
I am happy to report that the high quality scans of the Apollo Operations Handbook CSM Volume 2 (J Missions) are available at the following address:

http://www.spacecraft.it/

Just look in the Downloads section (after registration, required only to keep a minimum of safety). Please report any access troubles to me. The document has been split in two parts for easier handling. References to the original are provided in the cover sheet.

The rest of the site is under constructions and will be used to collect contributions on topics about spacecraft history and technology and other related-matters. More documents will be published in the following months.

Please join me in thanking kneecaps, a regular contributor to this forum, for his outstanding contribution in creating multiple versions of the PDF files (some 80MBytes of stuff) from the 800+ scanned pages. The scan project started this summer but the need to link it to the web site created more delay than necessary. Apologies to those waiting for it.

And, of course,               HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Unfortunately we had a software problem with large files. Please wait one day before trying again. Apologies once more to all attempting to download the two files. I will post another reply as soon as the problem is solved.

Thanks Swatch! It was great work putting it together! The main thing is it IS complete. There's stuff in there i've not seen before and it was good for me, so I hope everybody else enjoys it.

I think we fixed the downloads of large files on the web site.
Feel free to try and download the AOH Vol 2.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, they downloaded fine for me, wow, I have a lot of reading to do!  Thanks guys.  The clear diagrams of the probe and tunnel latches are very nice!  Thanks for your efforts!

Yeah, I tried to keep them as high res as possible in the final PDFs, but it's always a tradeoff between that and size. However, the document is on the bigger size 80 mb total which allow me to produce the diagrams fairly large. You can go close and read the panel numbers and stuff.

Is this website still active???

I can't seem to get the link listed in DSKY's opening post to work.

I am researching some procedures that should be outlined in the later half of AOH Vol 2 and I am hoping these files are still available.

I can't open the link either. Opening page loads with a diagram and then goes to a 500 Internal Server error and blank page.

The spacecraft.it site has been brought down a few months ago because of a serious software issue.
We need time to restore it or shift it to another blog-like site.

Please do not use the original link.

If you need to access the AOH Vol 2 for the J-Missions send me a note as PM and I will send you a direct link.

As usual I make it available for free, but I would like to keep track of who downloads it because soon I hope to make available more interesting things. As usual I am too busy to do everything, but I keep trying.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
