A final launch replay being shown.

With the news blackout in place, and based on the NROL-45 mission in February 2016, confirmation of mission success should be delivered to us within about an hour-and-a-half. And I guarantee you a press release WILL be issued.

I'll see you all next time; good afternoon.

The prelaunch burn off of the LH2 always makes me wince! Phew; what a scorcher...

I'm always surprised by how much the DIV, especially the Heavy, roasts itself, even with ROFIs.  Here's a screencap of the "lightly singed" core, just after liftoff.

And now we wait for confirmation of success.

Almost seems like the ROFIs didn't work, that's the most burnt I've seen a Delta since Delta IV Heavy's first lunch, and by far the blackest single stick...

Edit: I'm not saying it's bad and not that it's not designed to ignite, just seems different man what we've seen recently

Noted: the 1st stage insulation got a scorching this time after engine ignition!

(It is "designed" for such an occurrence, but it appears to have been "more than usual," compared to recent Delta IV launches?)

Now we wait for @torybruno to tweet "124". Single core Delta IV signs off from her West Coast career.

Great views and sound from Jalama Beach. 8.5 miles southeast of SLC-6. This park is closed for most south Vandenberg launches as the polar trajectory goes directly overhead. Today's launch while not overhead, was only a few degrees from the zenith. As close as I've ever been to being under a departing vehicle. A few pix attached video and more high resolution stills later.

More like from a Gerry Anderson show.  Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet.  That terrain and sky just a wall mural.

Waiter, please tell the chef that I want a (un)healthy char on the exterior, but leave a juicy center. :D
