The Chinese are good, but I honestly can't see them launching a Moon flight in 6 years. They have little experience, and that is a lot of hardware to develop in a short amount of time. Unless they don't mind cutting corners, but that's how people die.

Just because China is aiming for a Luna landing doesn't mean to say it will be manned, think Surveyor.

There is a huge bulk of speculation on what China will do with the next flight and beyond Shenzhou

Some say it will be
1 They do a Chinese moon orbiter
2 China will then send Robotic landers in 2010
3 Chinese might try to build a manned Moon-base before NASA returns to the Moon

Considering that they are already into the equivalent of the US 'Gemini' phase of their program, they could be surprisingly close.

The first manned Gemini flight - GT-3 - launched on March 23 1965, and so it only took the US 4 years to go from that position to achieving a successful moon landing.

Remember also that the Apollo 1 fire put a two year long delay into the US program, so the first manned moon landing could conceivably have occurred a lot earlier than 1969 too.

It all depends on how fast the Chinese wish to do it.   If they want it, they'll throw money at it and get there sooner.   If its not so urgent, they'll take more time and develop the tech more slowly.
