I’ve searched everywhere online, but can barely find any info on the Rocketdyne LANCE engine (not the spin ones, the liquid main propulsion). I only heard of it in the first place in Jack Dean’s book on his career in Rocketdyne. What were the specs? What re the advantages, disadvantages, is it worth using, etc.
There are other interesting technologies for LFREs, more well known, like RDEs & aerospikes. In the future, could you make an engine that is: RDE, Aerospike,
and
(I’ll call the LANCE tech) Nested? How could it work, & what would the advantages be? Isp, thrust, etc. over a typical bell engine?
