From here it does look like the worst is slipping around to the north

Hail core still staying north. Barring a lightning hit, I think we'll be fine.

Looks like we're safe from the hail... Worst of the storm is now pulling offshore. The cold front that brought yesterday's destruction in the SE US still about 6 hours away, but it hasn't done much in the way of severe weather today.

New storm has quickly formed near Cocoa and it heading straight for the pad. No signs of severe, but a good amount of lightning.

Lightning within 10mi of the pad to the southwest, and moving northeast. Not a lot.

Radar looking a tad more impressive over Titusville. That specific cell appears to have strengthened in the last few minutes.

Some nice lightning on the NASA TV feeds.

The heaviest radar returns from this cell are coming from an area that looks like it's stayed north and west of Pad A.  At least so far.  It appears to be growing more out over the water.

Weather channel put up this plot, interesting difference then inner circle is 10 miles(?). Wonder if TWC included cloud/cloud strikes as well and KSC only ground strikes?

Ironically, one of the guys attending the NASATweetup today is a lightning researcher.  Just posted the following:

ztresearch 9:51pm via TweetDeck
KSC lightning detection system, closest strike today was 0.91 NM from L39A. -17.6 kA peak current at 726 pm #nasatweetup

also, check out this picture courtesy NASA/Bill Ingalls:

The closest strikes were with the first batch, the more numerous (but fortunately more distant) ones came after 8pm attached.
