This appears to be the second SLC-40 Starlink launch scheduled in November, after SpX-31 on November 5 UTC from LC-39A, and after Koreasat 6A, also from SLC-40.

Re: competition for SLC-40 in November:
If the several commercial Falcon 9 payloads with NET November dates are ready, then there will be less Florida Starlink launches in November, compared to a schedule with few or no commercial payloads.

On the other hand, LC-39A will be free for use after SpX-31.

There’s indeed another slot for Starlink launches from the Cape in early November…and it’s Group 6-69 also towards the south-east.

Which first stage will be used for this launch? (semi-rhetorical question)

Falcon 9 first stages are now cleared for use up to forty times for non-crewed launches, although that number is apparently more restricted for Cargo Dragon or Cygnus than these other payloads.

1072.2 and 1086.2 are being converted to "single-sticks" after their recovery as the Falcon Heavy side boosters from the GOES-U launch.  We have not yet seen them in their new role.

Available first stages, with UTC date of most recent recovery:
1072.2    Jun 25   (maybe)
1086.2    Jun 25   (maybe)
1077.16  Sep 5
1083.5    Sep 10   SpX-31
1067.23  Sep 17   Koreasat 6A
1085.3    Sep 28   Starlink 6-77
1080.12  Oct 15

Edit November 9: It's B1080.12, skipping over B1072.2, B1086.2, and B1077.16.

Re: SpaceX skipping over B1072.2 and B1086.2.  I wonder if they are being converted to single-stick Falcon 9’s after all.  It may be more efficient to leave them as-is for whatever/whenever the next Falcon Heavy launch is in 2025.

I.e. it did not postpone the launch. So it was canceled-and-replaced by this new notice that does postpone the launch.

With three launches in 4 days, two of them Starlinks, I suspect they will update the link for Sunday's launch after tonight's VSFB launch so viewers won't get confused.

24 starlinks? That's a surprise.

SpaceX is targeting Sunday, November 10 for a Falcon 9 launch of 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Liftoff is targeted for 4:28 p.m. ET, with backup opportunities available until 8:28 p.m. ET. If needed, additional opportunities are also available on Monday, November 11 starting at 4:02 p.m. ET.

A live webcast of this mission will begin about five minutes prior to liftoff, which you can watch here and on X @SpaceX. You can also watch the webcast on the new X TV app.

This is the 12th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Euclid, Axiom-2, Axiom-3, Cygnus NG-21, SES 24, CRS-30, and five Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

I think the reason why no Direct to Cell satellites are included in the stack of 24 is because each DTC sat weighs more than a typical Starlink v2 Mini satellite.

Plus, we learned that a stack of 24 v2 Mini sats is 17.5 metric tons (~729 kilograms per sat); that's probably close to the limit Falcon 9 can carry to LEO while landing the first stage. There's no way it can manage 25.
Liftoff for St. Jude's! Go Dragon, Go Falcon, Godspeed Inspiration4!

Primary launch opportunity = 2024-11-10 21:46:00 UTC per CelesTrak.

Last Primary Day launch = 2024-11-11 01:24:00 UTC. So this time there is a discrepancy between CelesTrak and the mission webpage at both ends of the launch window. 😠

I don't see a post on X, but CelesTrak has been updated. Do the times now match the mission webpage (which has not been changed)? No, of course not. In fact the discrepancy is now slightly larger.

Five Backup launch opportunities have been removed. Some of the remaining ones have had their times adjusted. The primary launch opportunity remains at 21:46 UTC.

Too bad that the recovery conditions at launch didn't conform to the forecast of Low risk.

Does anyone understand what is happening during the videos of the stage 2 Mvac engine...on this flight and many others I see the foil covering "pulse" initially at a frequency of ~1 Hz and then, as the flight progresses, seem to decrease in frequency until just before shutdown it stops. Is this a pressure relief valve venting from the propellant tank(s)... decreasing in frequency as the tank pressure reduces during depletion?

#SpaceX Starlink 6-69 rising a little while ago. It's been a really busy day at the Rocket Ranch: two launches and one booster landing.
