Thanks vineethgk! The Press Kits is showing 6x12.2 for the strap-ons, the same as other PSLV-XL vehicles. Standard PSOMs are 9 t. Of course, this just might be a copy and paste error. The assembly image in the Press Kit does show the shorter PSOMs.

Here we go with the pics. It's a PSLV-G alright. If all goes according to plan, this will be the first timein it's history that ISRO is making two launches in the same calendar month... and the shortest gap between two launches too..

I have checked the brochure and the one for flight C33 (IRNSS-1G) - it looks like all 3 pairs of SRBs separate only 2 seconds earlier this time than in the last -XL flight. Does that sound right for the old G version?

A simulated launch sequence for next PSLV :

In all viewes the s/c is moving from North to South in front of viewer.

After SCARSAT releaseat 730 kms altitude the Launcher moves towards South pole and traversing half orbit from backside of Globe appears over North Pole when the second ignition takes pl;ace ( using Svalbard station ranging and command ?? ) to reduce the altitude. .
Then after about half orbit when the launcher is over South pole at 689 kms altitude one more ignition is used ( to fine tune launch conditions ?? ) and after shutdown Dual Launch adapter is released and after half a minute remaining satellites are released ( Alsat-1N, NLS 19, Pratham, PiSAT, Alsat-1B, Alsat-2B and Pathfinder-1 .. in that order ) in about 2.3 minutes while the launcher is moving South to North behind the globe in graphic.

Yes and this is undoubtedly PSLV-G with its shorter PSOMs and the missing SITVC on PSOM-5 which was a modification on C7 and in place since. PSOMXL have SITVC on 4 and 5 both. But they are calling it XL not only in brochure and mission page but on that 'curtain raiser' video as well...
