Current Expedition 13 crew:

CDR – Pavel Vinogradov (launch aboard Soyuz TMA-8 on March 22, 2006)
FE-1 – Jeffrey Williams (launch aboard Soyuz TMA-8 on March 22, 2006)
FE-2 – Thomas Reiter (launch aboard Discovery on May 16, 2006)

If Roskosmos and NASA will not agree before November 2005 about payment of the flight of the American astronaut, Jeffrey Williams will be replaced by Dmitry Kondratyev

Future first Brazilian astronaut Marcos Pontes has arrived to Russia today for the preparing to his spaceflight (launch aboard Soyuz TMA-8 on March 22, 2006)

Anik, whats the plan for the Spacewalk?

From "NASA Space Station On-Orbit Status 18 October 2005"

http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=18415

"The spacewalk, from the Quest Airlock (A/L) in EMU (Extravehicular Mobility Unit) suits, is estimated to last 5h 25m. Primary objectives: installation of an external video camera assembly (CP9 ETVCG, External TV Camera Group) on a stanchion on the P1 segment (lower outboard), and the removal and subsequent jettisoning/throwing of the FPP (Floating Potential Probe) with its solar arrays and extended probes from the top of the Z1 truss (portside), it in retrograde direction (about 30 deg zenith and 10 deg port of the ISS minus X-axis) with a velocity of at least 0.15 m/s, while the station is in XVV TEA attitude. There are also three get-ahead tasks, if time permits: retrieval of the S1-1 RJMC (Rotary Joint Motor Controller), removal & replacement of an RPCM (Remote Power Controller Module on the MT (Mobile Transporter), and installation of a clamp from the MISSE 4 (Materials on the ISS Experiment #4) on the A/L starboard endcone zenith/aft handrail."

Got their work cut out for them... but its great to see some progress, if I recall, the camera was to be attached on the last STS mission, but they ran out of time due to gap filler pulling..

Time For Reaching Accord With NASA On ISS-13 Crew Drawing To End

MOSCOW, October 20 1104 GMT (Itar-Tass) - The time for achieving understandings with NASA on the composition of the 13th main mission to the I-S-S is drawing to an end. This opinion was expressed on Thursday by chief of the manned programs section of the Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) Alexei Krasnov in an exclusive interview with Tass.
According to the section chief, two compositions of the ISS-13 crew are now under examination. The first version: already approved Russians Pavel Vinogradov and Dmitry Kondratyev as well as first Brazilian astronaut Marcus Pontes. The contract on his flight in March 2006 was signed last Tuesday at the meeting of the Russian and Brazilian presidents, Krasnov noted. The Brazilian takes up training under the program of a commercial expedition where "there is a possibility to minimize the volume of preparations".
The second version: Vinogradov and Pontes remain at their seats, but NASA astronaut Jeffery Williams will take the left armchair for the flight engineer at the Soyuz TMA-8 spaceship instead of Kondratyev. Training under the Soyuz flight engineer program "is impressive enough" and long. "Nobody now says for sure that Kondratyev will not fly in the spring, since there is no clarity in relations with NASA so far," Krasnov emphasized.
"We have a clear-cut understanding with our American counterparts: If no formal agreement on the flight of a NASA astronaut aboard Soyuz in spring 2006 is concluded by November 1, we shall be forced to send back to Houston astronauts who are now training under the ISS-13 program," he stated.
If the US House of Representatives is short of time to approve a compensation for flights of NASA astronauts by Soyuz before this deadline, "American colleagues can offer us, as a version, certain official guarantees that this question will be settled positively by the next flight". "In that case we accept these official guarantees and will continue training of astronauts. We do not intend to create artificially a conflict on this point," Krasnov underlined.

1.5 or 2 years (from the beginning of the manufacturing of the spacecraft till its launch)... Accordingly, Soyuz TMA-8 vehicle (launch - March 22, 2006) have begun to produce in the middle of 2004...

Yes, five years with all the issues on NASA side of the partnership, thanks  Russia for stepping in. If it was left to NASA, I don't think this mark would be reached...

All space nations owe it to their crews to ensure that there is a backup plan, this one just played out well.

But talk about timing with the new VSE and all.

I still want the cupola launched, its sitting at KSC now... looks like it would fit in a STS mission along with a MPLM. One has to see the arm moving around, yes hidden agenda.. ;)

From NASA Space Station On-Orbit Status 18 November 2005
http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=18736

"As per request from Moscow, and with NASA approval, the next Russian spacewalk (EVA-15) has been rescheduled from currently 12/8 to January next year (e.g., 1/26-1/27), because of a very tight crew schedule and pressing Progress unloading/loading & replacement activities.  The EVA date remains under discussion (the high Solar Beta angle at that time will be the main constraint in determining the date)"

I heard that the next Expedition 12 crew's spacewalk from Pirs airlock is postponed from January 26 to February 2, 2006 and crew's possible second spacewalk from Quest airlock unfortunately is canceled...
