CAPSULE SHIPPED!
PHOENIX 1 has been packed, boxed, and shipped to the SpaceX launch site in Florida for its upcoming test flight. This mission marks a critical step in testing our re-entry technology under real-world (and space) conditions, enabling us to advance the development of PHOENIX 2.

Our AIT team (Assembly, Integration, and Test) is already on-site in Florida to receive the package 📦 and prepare it for integration onto the Falcon 9 rocket at the PPF (Payload Processing Facility), shortly.

Meanwhile, at ATMOS HQ in Lichtenau, our team is configuring the Mission Control room to rehearse every aspect of this mission.

Current Flight Window for the Bandwagon-3 Mission: NET April.

Stay with us for more updates on technical details, testing, and our planned re-entry trajectory.

GO PHOENIX!

PExT was supposed to launch on Transporter 13. NASA says launch is NET April, so might now be on Bandwagon 3.

I wonder how many payloads are, as yet, not revealed?

Does "later this year" (as opposed to "this month") imply Haven Demo has been bumped off this flight?

"Musk's SpaceX Ride to Space" Military Reconnaissance Satellite No. 4 to Launch on March 23 [Apr 3, translated]

Quote
According to the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration on the 3rd, the military will launch Reconnaissance Satellite No. 4 from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA between the 21st and the 27th. The one-week reserve launch date was set in consideration of the possibility of changes to the schedule due to weather, etc. As of now, the launch date is likely to be the 23rd.

Military Reconnaissance Satellite 4 to Launch on March 23rd [translated]

Quote
The 425 Project is a project to deploy a total of five reconnaissance satellites, including one electro-optical and infrared (EO-IR) satellite (Unit 1) and four synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites (Units 2 through 5). The name 425 (Saio) is a combination of the pronunciation of SAR and EO (Io).

No, Haven Demo, launching on Bandwagon-3, is preparation for the first Haven launching next year.  The demo mission will perform these tests over several months.

CAPSULE ARRIVED!
PHOENIX 1 and our AIT team have safely reached the launch site in Florida to perform the integration of our prototype together with our launch integrator Exolaunch to get ready for the exciting next phase.

To avoid speculation: our team traveled on a commercial flight – not a container ;)

While we are currently performing numerous pre-flight checks and rehearsals in various team constellations to prepare for gathering critical flight data, we are engaged in a new mission segment due to a recent trajectory change.
A detailed update will be communicated shortly.

Quote
From day one, our approach to hardware engineering has been hands-on and experimental. 👷♀️🥼🔭
Since PHOENIX’ Inflatable Heat Shield is a novel concept, the design and configuration of our technology are largely undefined from the start.
To bridge the gap between existing theoretical models in aerothermodynamics and real-world data, we conducted a series of drop tests to analyze design-critical influences – such as drag, lift, and various external forces – to ensure our inflatable heat shield remains stable during re-entry.

Watch how we (literally) throw theory into reality and approach turning concepts and calculations into observational results, to prepare our prototype design for its first test flight in space.

Less simulation, more iteration! 🏎️
These tests and iterations led us to the development and assembly of our first prototype, PHOENIX 1. There’s only so much a space company can test on Earth. Our main priority is to reach space as early as possible to gain critical data that will inform and accelerate the development of the next iteration of our PHOENIX return vehicle.
Stay tuned over the next few days for more details about our first test in space!

Falcon 9 first stages are now cleared for use up to forty times for non-crewed launches, although that number is apparently more restricted for Cargo Dragon or Cygnus than these other payloads.

Available first stages, with UTC date of most recent recovery:
1072.2    Jun 25   ?
1067.27  Feb 15   Starlink 6-73
1076.22  Feb 21
1083.10  Feb 27   Starlink 12-17
1069.23  Mar 13
1090.3    Mar 14
1077.20  Mar 18
1092.3    Mar 24  SpX-32
1080.18  Mar 31
1085.7    Apr 1
