Schedule fixed!

https://www.nasaspaceflight.com/schedule/

Is it just me then that the main section of the page for the schedule is blank?

Not fixed on my end because it might be covered over by an ad
Still blank for me in Chrome and Firefox. Android and Windows.

Ah it broke again. Yeah, it was working, but now I see same issue. We'll work it out.

Oh, I forgot to note that the schedule was fixed as we got very busy with Starship. Been working for everyone, I assume, given the lack of follow on posts? :)

Hello I just went into the Space Force thread on the Space Policy section and it caused a pop up window to appear that claimed to be scanning my device for security threats. I didn’t catch any details as I immediately closed the window. What’s interesting is I was using Tapatalk to browse the forum but the pop window opened up outside the Tapatalk app in Safari on my iPhone.

Nice! I wasn't even aware of the "Schedule" link on the main site, since I mainly use the forums.  You should replace the Forum's "Calendar" link with it, since it has been unmaintained since July.

Moderator question,

I'm trying to move a top into the Flyfly, Astra folder, but that location is missing the pull-down list for a target location.

The first picture shows that the Flyfly, Relevitity, and Astra locations are missing from the moderator's move selection (second picture - red arrow).

Noticed today that embedded Youtube links appear to be invisible, for example the link posted below is not shown.

EDIT: Bug fixed at 15:00 UTC.

EDIT 2: And the issue is back again. It seems to be Chrome specific, and doesn't occur when opening the forum with the Edge browser or on Android. Updating chrome to latest release permanently fixed the issue.

I kept posting and deleting that to no end, trying to figure out why the link disappears.  Thanks for fixing that.

This may just be a "forum software updated a while back, this can never be fixed" issue, but doing some digging on Canfield joints I'm coming across a lot of decade-old links using an older addressing style (e.g. http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1201&start=1 ) that 404. The annoying thing is even if you translate to the current URL formatting (e.g. https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=1201 ) the thread still cannot be accessed. With the forum search being inoperable, this is doubly irritating for links to L2 threads that are not google-indexed. It's possible some of this is due to thread-shifting post-Constellation where forum/subforum layouts were rejiggered.

sorry for 5 years late, and i'm just an archivist.
Hi, I got the same issues with this link: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=12778&start=1 (from https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=11800.100)
I don't want it to become lost media (or maybe it is), but looks like after you guy switch thread-view.asp to index.php, the link is just 404, and Wayback Machine just forcing login... Maybe you guy can reindex every single old link?

Should not need to reindex. there are ways to automatically redirect those to the correct new link. (mod_rewrite...).

But it doesn't seem like the topic id's translate directly, I tried topic 1201 and 12778 and they both return a topic not found or off limits error. (and I don't know if behind the scenes there is any data to match the old id to the correct new id - if the topic even exists under another id).

Yeah, it return off limits error, I don't understand why

Currently I'm DMing Ford Mustang, the guy who post the download link, but no response... Maybe the download switched to L2 subscription? Hopefully not...

Apologies if this is a known issue (I didn’t see it mentioned in the recent posts) but search seems to be broken. I searched for ECLSS and life support and the only thing that came up was a deceptive ad saying to click on it to “activate [my] account”.

Hi everyone, I thought most people knew the history of Ford Mustang, but maybe some of you are new and unaware.

Ford was a valuable member of the NSF team and was responsible for recording each and every NASA TV coverage of all the Shuttle missions end-to-end, along with many other NASA projects. All of this was stored on a server he maintained. Tragically, Ford left after a major tragedy in his life. The abandoned server became infected with viruses and Trojans. Some of the links are unrecoverable. In my daily research of old archives to answer member questions, I have come across his posts and always feel regret that we did not back these up elsewhere. Other YouTube channels are recovering some of these through NASA's Freedom of Information Act requests. I am slowly updated on some parts of these, but they will never be fully recoverable. I shake my head every time I visit these old threads.

Regarding some of the broken NSF links, that is beyond my capabilities. There were changes to the NSF software way back that broke links, and the webmaster, if possible, might be able to resolve this issue. There are many, perhaps thousands, of affected links.

A word of extra caution,  anyone attempting to click on Ford Mustang’s links should ensure their antivirus software is up to date, as doing so could otherwise compromise your personal equipment.

Please refrain from contacting Ford Mustang's account, as he no longer wishes to remain active. I wish him well. He has been missed.

Hey I don't really know where to post this so I'm posting it here, you can delete it once you've read my message here.

So right now I'm visiting the NSF forum on mobile, on Google Chrome browser, on an Android smartphone, okay so I'm using the mobile version of the site, just so we're clear.

There is a nasty bug where when I type out a large body of text, like five paragraphs or something like that, all of a sudden whilst I'm typing, the page will start jumping from the bottom to the top, and it only happens whilst I'm typing.

I complained about this bug about 5 days ago and it seems you guys improved it, but now it starts happening once I've typed out a large body of text, So it seems you guys have not completely eliminated this bug.

Yup it's happening right now, once I've typed out a large body of text, like five paragraphs or something, The page starts jumping up and down whilst I'm typing, it is very annoying so please fix this?

It's because of this bug that I've always avoided visiting this website on my smartphone and usually only visit this website on my computer.

So yeah I complained about this bug about 5 days ago and it seems you guys actually made it better but you guys haven't completely eliminated this bug.

And I would like to visit this website more often and post more often but you have to get rid of this bug.

This bug has been around for a long time and it's not getting fixed so I finally decided I'd speak up about it.

It's just I would like to visit this website more often on my smartphone but I can't because of this annoying bug so please fix this?

A: Yeah it's an old bug, I once tracked down the cause and let them know but apparently it was never addressed.

B: You can use the full site on mobile, works quite well (despite a number of things that can easily be done to make it much better)

Edit: putting this here for the record, the issue is related to the autogrow option on the textbox, the autogrow logic reduces the textbox height to 0px and then to the height of the content. but when the height is first changed to 0 the page scrolls up since the content is now shorter than the current scroll position.

From memory the admins wanted us to report cloudflare errors when they occur so that they can address?

If so then I just got a few right now (12:55pm AEST 24/10/25):
- Cloudflare RayID: 99362e45f9ef5a67 (2025-10-24 02:52:54 UTC)

the error message states that it's an error with the Host forum.nasaspaceflight.com.

A few refreshes and it went away, but every now and again it comes back.
