In my case it doesn't even render the ad -or the "username"- right, and frankly it's quite jarring to the thread...

I couldn’t even access the forum Saturday & Sunday via Tapatalk. I couldn’t tell if it was a forum or Tapatalk issue.

That's because you're using an Ad blocker.  For a test, disable your ad blocker and try again; the advertisement should appear.

No thanks, I'm fine without the stupid ad. The empty thing is already annoying as fruck...

Definitely annoying and debases the value of the forum, especially the L2 stuff which we've already paid to see.

I'm not. All other ads appear normally.

It's the same here, no ad blocker either, just a blank post with a weird username. FireFox 141.0.

SMF (the forum software) in play. It has a mind of its own as the backend software. Noticed we don't have this issue in L2 threads. We'll sort it out. Just bare with it for now if you can. More annoying than anything functionality.

Forums like this will always have ads, all sites do, but no way would I sanction this sort of quantity of ad thing going on right now.

Again, another step towards wanting to port the entire thing over to Xenforo's software.

Thank you for that update!  Now lets see how many other people post in here complaining about it, without scrolling up first ...

If anyone spots someone ranting elsewhere about this (e.g. in a thread where it's appearing), please gently let them know that it's a known problem that popped up overnight and NSF is working on it.

Thanks so much for your responses, everyone! They help to narrow down the issue. Cheri B mentioned that it doesn't happen in L2, but please feel free to post here if it occurs there as well, and if another browser doesn't have this issue.

I think we might have fixed it. Not the full solution, that'll come via new software. But would like others to confirm current status.

Well I just came here to check on this, because I'm still seeing it, but in a different form.  Instead of being "posts" within the thread, the ads are now showing up at the top of each forum page.  Less onerous for sure, though!  Thanks for the efforts.  We all love NSF so much :)

Gee, Chris, how come you get the best ads? All I get are ads for toothbrush holders.

Seriously, I went to the same unread thread just now, and there were no ads presented, and I haven't seen any since Chris B's post. However, as a precaution, I performed a PC cleanup and cleared the cache before resuming work on NSF and reading your post, and then conducting the test.  I also slept at a Holiday Inn.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same. Ads are no longer shown in-thread. But, at the top of threads, ads still appear. The weird thing is that it doesn't happen always.
This only happens in the public part of the forum. I'm not seeing it happen in the L2 section.

I'm seeing this now several times on several different threads.

The last page of a thread, you can see the breadcrumbs, and ad (ads vary at random), a random number of likes and the footer navigation links.

AND NO CONTENT I have no idea if there are additional posts that are hidden or this ad is the last 'post' on the thread.

New glitch that I'm experiencing on Android 16 devices regardless of device type since the advertisement apocalypse fix(es) were implemented. The new glitch is unfortunately browser agnostic.
