Based on the pictures that SpaceX provided of MB-1, which show five Super Heavy boosters in the structure, does anyone else find it concerning to have staff working on the scaffolding positioned as seen in these two pictures? Do you think SpaceX should invest in building platforms like those we see at the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building)? Or is it too early to create these platforms until a final design is finalized?  Even if the booster could be rotated having some permanent service platforms along the sides of the building would be safer and reduce tools dropping and others below and colliding with the LV.

I added a picture from the VAB as an example.  Even the first stage tank of Artimus is surrounded by special scaffolding while on its side at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility.

I'm not trying to be a pest, but just concerned for employee and LV safety.  It may be nothing to get worried about.

Centre screen, you can see a worker on a crew lift up and down the right side of the MB2 doorway, apparently working on the runner for the blind-style door #R1. In the 2nd part of the clip,  I think I can see the operating rope/cable ready to be installed.

Scaffolding (when done correctly) is completely safe and OSHA approved! It's quick, easy, and common and the tool used to build just about everything.

However if you need to put it up and take it back down over and over for your manufacturing process it quickly becomes inefficient. SpaceX will be switching to more permanent platforms when they make the process more efficient and inexpensive, not for safety reasons since they should already have that covered by correct use of the scaffolding.

I'd also add in that the ships have not reached a final design.  Every few go through a design change which may obsolete any platforms already built.

LoL, definitely not OSHA approved but effective!

I so wanted to make a comment about bamboo scaffolding used around the world and how beautiful and sophisticated it can be.

Bamboo scaffolding is mostly just HK now (all the above examples are, and are quite old. E.g. one is the Exhibition Centre in Wanchai/Admiralty) ... Shenzhen (just over the border from HK) uses normal modern scaffolding.

HK does still use it,but generally not for really big stuff anymore.

Mine are from Mumbai, current, and if you count, 20 stories high.

It also bears no relevance to the launch tower scaffolding of course. Just provides perspective for what ad-hoc means.
