It's been more "pronounced" since Block I and II engines started flying back in the mid-90s.

No, not that. On the left side of ME-3, gas coming down from the LH2 lines. Is all that amount normal???

BTW, I thought that was He (+ a bit of O2) from the HPOTP purge seal....
GLS is go for main engine start!

It's the camera angle that fools you. It's just that O2 gets blown off in the wind. Everything is just fine. Depending on the wind speed, the SSMEs can get obscured by the O2 gas.

There are some "holds" in the countdown, just to make sure any problem that may arise is solved on time. There is an explanation of the countdown and its built-in holds in this link:

Going to mention this again. This is a live update thread. We need to keep the posts down to relevant information. Do not post anything "chatty" - as I'll delete them. Adhere to this to ensure everyone doesn't have to trawl through posts of babbling to find information, or I'll stop those offending from posting.

Heh -- they've got the wrong "stuff" at T-6 hours and counting.  Those tasks are being done now in the hold at T-3 hours...

[offtopic] Hope I won't be banned because of my chatty posts [/offtopic]

SpaceDaily:The Final Inspection Team observed no ice or frost on the liquid oyxgen feedline support bracket where the foam broke away Sunday.
"So that is good news that there has not been any ice buildup in that area where the insulation was lost or on that feedline bracket," NASA spokesman Geoge Diller says.
