STS-131 - Mission Status Briefing FD 2

Just tried both of these, had audio but no picutre.

FD2 Highlights plays fine for me with VLC. Haven't tried the Mission Status Briefing.

STS-131 HD launch and launch replays (no shortening of the camera title slates like I usually do).

The launch file is in one piece:

http://www.filefront.com/16042979/sts131-launch-040510-hd.mp4/

-----

Use HJSPLIT (free software) or DOS copy command to join the 3 pieces of the launch replays file.

http://www.filefront.com/16052553/sts131-launch-eng-hd.mp4.003/

---

FD3 HD highlights to come later today if NASA is able to provide them.

NASA Flight Day Highlights in HD, days 5 and 7.  there are no FD 2, 3, 4, 6 HD feeds available to-date.

H264 format, and each day is between 500-800 MB in size.

With FD 5, you can use HJSPLIT (free software) or other methods to join the 2 parts into one file.

Those few seconds from the forward SRB cam in which you see the separation, with the orbiter shooting gracefully off into space and the blue glow of the earth in the background, have to be some of the most spectacular available in our time.

There is something about seeing a real spaceship rocketing away up close and from space.

Will there ever be an opportunity for somebody on the ISS to follow and film a launch via the cupola?

NASA fed Flight Day 6 highlights in HD.

The two parts can be joined with HJSPLIT (free) or other programs/methods to make one file.

H264 format.

http://www.filefront.com/16112039/sts131-fd6-hd.mp4.001/

http://www.filefront.com/16119357/sts131-fd6-hd.mp4.002/

I should have FD9 HD links later today if all goes well.

STS-131 FD9 HD Highlights

H264 format, about 500MB in filesize.

http://www.filefront.com/16127673/sts131-fd9-hd.mp4/

There appear to be no FD8 or FD10 HD highlights, at least NASA has not fed them yet.

Probably not.

The ISS is in a higher orbit than the shuttle's initial orbit, so when the shuttle makes it to orbit, it will be moving faster around Earth than ISS. As such, they launch a few minutes after the ISS passes over to give ISS some lead time so that the shuttle will catch up to it instead of racing ahead.

NASA has fed FD 12 highlights in HD.

H264 format, about 334MB in size.  Short and sweet 8 minutes or so.

http://www.filefront.com/16160023/sts131-fd12-hd.mp4/

Last HD scheduled event for this mission is the landing if it happens at KSC.

First sentence is correct, second is not. The phase window is a lot wider than that.

STS-131 Landing in HD - H264 format, about 700 MB in size.

You can use HJSPLIT (free) or other methods/software to combine
these two pieces into a single video file.

Sorry that I didn't get the crew walkaround in HD.

I plan to post some training videos in HD in the near future, as soon as I finish uplinking the landing replay HD material.

STS-131 Landing Replays in HD.  About 1070MB in size.

use HJSPLIT (or other methods) to combine the two parts into one file.

I didn't trim slates between camera replays and I left some SD surce material (namely the runway edge replays) in the file rather than deleting all SD camera sourced material.

Space Shuttle Discovery safely landed at Kennedy Space Center on April 20, 2010, completing the STS-131 mission. The 15-day flight to the International Space Station featured a seven-member crew led by Commander Alan Poindexter. Discovery delivered science racks and supplies using the Leonardo logistics module and supported three spacewalks to upgrade the station. This was Discovery’s 38th flight and one of its final missions before retirement.

Discovery STS-131 Astronaut Crew:
Commander:  Alan Poindexter
Pilot: James Dutton
Mission Specialist 1:  Richard Mastracchio
Mission Specialist 2:  Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger
Mission Specialist 3:  Stephanie Wilson
Mission Specialist 4:  Naoko Yamazaki, JAXA
Mission Specialist 5: Clayton Anderson
It's Tony De La Rosa... I don't create this stuff; I just report it.  I also cover launches and trim post (Tony TrimmerHand).
