IIRC, the TM-21 move was done as a docking port change. They moved from one to the other and just snapped some pictures of Atlantis in the process

Nope. Soyuz TM-21 has used the same port (on Kvant module) during undocking and docking. This moving was performed only for the filming of Atlantis undocking.

Feb 12. Where did you get Feb 9 from?

In your article.

I read: " With STS-119's slip from December, 08 to February, 09 now confirmed, the program refined the remaining manifest to align with the required spacing between missions."

That's December (20)08 to February (20)09.

I sit corrected then.  Thanks Andrey.

For some reason the PAO on the website is calling it the Arm instead of the OBSS, makes me cringe.  Is this the same one that cam down from 124, or a different one?

Technically, it is just the Orbiter Boom (Arm), it does not have the Sensor Package installed on it, so it looks.  I do not believe this is the one brought down from STS-124, as they are probably testing said boom, or using it for STS 125/126.

How many OBSS were produced? One for each Orbiter?

For some reason I think it was two. I'm not "certain" they got another, as I remember during the time of the mini-boom cancellation ( http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/content/?cid=4906 ) I'm sure they mentioned getting another normal boom instead.

I'll read my own stories (did a few on the mini-boom) when I get a moment ;D

There was a heater on-board the ISS where they placed the boom ( http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/content/?cid=5387 ).  If there weren't any heaters on the ISS when they stowed it, or should the heaters have failed, the OBSS would be fried/frozen from the super cold weather in the darkness and the super hot weather in the sun.  There are cameras on the end of the OBSS that send down super hi-res images of the TPS/RCC when they scan on FD2 and on the Late Inspections day.

No, it's the boom that was retrieved on STS-124. It was stored and inspected on the transport flatbed in the transfer aisle of OPF-3.  The hand pointing to the aft hydraset is mine.  ;D

I saw an orbiter go over on a pass, 200 miles up. Was the nearest I've ever been to one and I was almost in tears (actually I was). Now I've just seen a post from someone who was five feet away. WOW. :o

Awesome! Zpoxy, were you telling the other engineer a joke? He looks like he's bent backwards laughing ;)

"So I told my neighbor, sure it'll reach the top of your roof, but there's no way I'll be able to get it out of the OPF without someone asking questions..." ;)
