Welcome to tonight's coverage of the nineteenth Soyuz launch from the Guiana Space Centre. The payload is the third of ESA's first-gen Meteorological Operational satellites, which orbit around the Earth's poles to collect weather data similar to NOAA's own constellation.

The T0 is scheduled for 00:47:27 UTC (9:47:27 PM French Guiana Time), which is instantaneous. It's only a one-second window, so any hold called will result in a postponement.

This is the fourteenth Soyuz-STB to be launched from Kourou; Soyuz-STB is a similar equivalent of the Soyuz-2.1b variant, except that the former includes some differences such as vertical integration and pyrotechnic igniters on the booster and first stage engines.
