Evan Dick
Katya Echazarreta

Second flight for Evan Dick. Victor Vescovo has wikipedia articles in 8 languages so he must be relatively well known. Hamish Harding has also a wikipedia entry, but only in English.

Interesting. Evan Dick is the first repeat customer for Blue Origin. A very good sign indeed.

Good quote: "The patch concept came from Astronaut Evan Dick, who said reaching space in the crew capsule on NS-19 felt like climbing above the surface of the ocean after a lifetime of living below the surface."

If they successfully launch on May 20, it will mark the shortest turnaround between any New Shepard flight. Only 51 days by my reckoning.

Reminds me of James Blish's Surface Tension.

Yes, there is always a slight pitch angle to avoid the launch tower.

Yes, there is always a slight pitch angle to avoid the launch tower.

Some orbital-class rockets also do that avoidance maneuver.

The Antares and Saturn V, for example.

It's unfortunate. What was in the stream that violated the copyright guidelines?

Both the live stream and highlights video, published by Blue Origin, have been blocked by "Grupo Globo" on copyright grounds.
PSA #1: EST does NOT mean "Eastern Time".  Use "Eastern" or "ET" instead, all year round, and avoid this common error.  Google "EST vs EDT".

How can they copyright strike Blue Origin’s own material?

I've seen it happen to others too. Some weird-country-streamer re-streams it and then claims copyright.

If I recall the incident correctly...

How did a YT third party copyright strike NASA and our own NSF?

YouTube does an exceptionally poor job at making sure copyright strikes are valid.

The live stream was unblocked overnight sometime.  I believe this is the original video, not a republishing, so apparently they got Youtube's attention: https://youtube.com/watch?v=TRA2MyRTmVM

The highlights video is still blocked.

So fortunate to have been able to ascend 106 km into space yesterday on @BlueOrigin's New Shephard. Amazing to see the blackness of space and experience zero-g. I hope the flight continues mankind's efforts to increase overall experience with repeatable, reusable space flight.
