Seemed like the President was interested and wanted to do it. Reading off a fact sheet at times?

He'll of been briefed, clearly - but I thought it was very good, and he got across some important facts, some good lead ins for the commanders to do the same.

I liked it - apart from the President calling Discovery an it - but Commander Lindsey's been great in paying her tribute.

MSB coming up at the top of the hour. Then I'll write an article. Then it's Glory's next launch attempt at 4am Central. Then it's FD9, then it's OTV-2's launch at 2:39 Central. Phew! Epic :)

You don't get to be Chief Astronaut without not knowing a few PR tricks! :)

Great point! He's very seasoned. Was the first to start smiling at the camera before the event started. Great responses.

Really, really love what he's been saying about Discovery. Top man.

As always it's not word for word transcription (especially as NTV keeps cutting out on VLC).

FD Royce Renfrew: A lot happening today, announced mission extension. 13+0 mission.

Looked at the cryo on Discovery. Have four SSPTS. 21 hour above the 13+0 mission and will still transfer some O2 to ISS.

73 percent complete as an average of transfer activities.

Crew was on a half day off. Russian CO2 scrubber working. Node 3 CDRA installed the new bed. Up and running. Expect it to be operational around an hour from now.

Call from the President was very nice. Had some kind words to say to the crew.

FD9 - back into the PMM. Have cleared out the aisle way, some stowage back to the bungle jail. Will work on the racks next. Clean out a place to move Express Rank 8, after cleaning out a space in the lab.

Robert asking about the PMM status after undock.

Mr Renfrew: About six hours short on completing all activites before we release HTV. After Discovery undocks, there will still be some work to do.

On R2/Obama

Mr Renfrew: Currently not in the docked timeline (for bringing out R2). Will be probably during the stage.

Denise on extension helping 134/135

Mr Renfrew - all of the work the crew need to do for 134, will offload from the work on the increment. A lot of work over a short time with all the visiting vehicles.

Marcia on R2 unpacking.

Mr Renfrew - Not sure when we're due to unpack R2 (the actual date). All R2 work from 133 is done.

Charles has a bad comm line again - Mr Renfrew resists :)
Was about normal EOM timelines. Can come home as late as Friday EOM+2

On OTV-2.

Mr Renfrew - NASA's had conversations with the USAF on the range for Discovery going up and down.

Robert on extension relating to food on Station.

Mr Renfrew - One of the things we did on 133 was to work via ISS supplies. Balance on ISS stores can easily accommodate for the extension.

Over.

So, we're getting into rack moves (which Chris knows I love)! ;D

A full overview of PMM rack moves was detailed in my article "International Resupply Vehicles Impact ISS On-Orbit Stowage".
http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2011/02/international-resupply-vehicles-impact-iss-stowage

As a summary, PMM rack moves are as follows (in order):

• ZSR at LAB1P1 > PMM1P1 (completed yesterday).
• ZSR at PMM1S3 > PMM1P2.
• ER-8 at PMM1S2 > LAB1P4.
• ZSR at PMM1S4 > PMM1S3.
• ZSR at PMM1S1 > COL1F2.
• 2x RSPs in PMM > HTV2F1 & HTV2A1.
• 2x ISPs in PMM > HTV2S1 & HTV2P2.

It is unlikely that the STS-133 crew will perform all of these rack moves, however (some will be completed by the increment crew post-133).

Updated NTV schedule for FD9.

Remember, running order for the big events tomorrow are

FD9 wake up at 03:23am Central....and throughout the day.

Glory launch at 04:09am Central:
ARTICLE:

LIVE:

And the Atlas V with OTV-2 launch at 2:39pm Central:
ARTICLE:
Friday.

LIVE: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=23962.0

Big picture plan:

Given we've already pre-empted the second mission extension day (and only had to update with positive result) I want to beef up my next 133 article - which I've been working on for the last hour or so - with a bit more with lovely vehicle status (she's performing so well I don't have a whole lot to write about :D)

Want to see if SSP held a standup today and then we'll meat it up with what the big bosses are saying about the mission.

Chris G will be writing up the excellent ascent report from MER (L2) at the weekend and I'll of checked into the potential slip for 134/review her VAB flow for another article. Then we're into preps for undocking.

Don't forget, if you're new, feel free to catch up via our pre-launch flow and mission coverage via here:

http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/tag/sts-133/ - we're up to about 115 articles now.
