Thank you for sharing your nice photos, were also lucky enough to participate in the family viewing.

I can contribute only the pics of the webcam from the entrance of the last few days. Source: KSC Visitor Complex

The small things want to be still done, so a night shift must be inserted again.

Technically I wasn't there for that. We actually had a rather high-level host who took us there.

Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit set to launch
http://www.collectspace.com/news/news-062513a.html

There is a moment in the new Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit at NASA's Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex when a fantasy becomes reality and the experience is nothing short of magical.

But unlike the theme parks in nearby Orlando, Florida, the attraction here is not the make believe, but the recognition that what you are looking at is in fact real.

"Space Shuttle Atlantis," which debuts on Saturday (June 29), showcases the retired winged spacecraft as part of a $100 million exhibit that has been more than a year in the making. It succeeds in bringing the public nose-to-nose — and nose-to-wing and nose-to-tail — with Atlantis in a way that is unique to every other museum display of a shuttle orbiter.

Do they not plan to put the attach point at the top of the ET where Atlantis would have been attached? They put so much detail into the tank I cant see how they would leave that out?

The upper attach point has been added, and is visible in this NASA photo.

After attending the rollover in November I didn't think I'd be in any hurry to return to KSC to see this display. It's just too awesome to wait. My daughter has her bag packed and by the door already.  :D

The Live Webcam is not so live anymore :( Last update was last Thursday.

What a bummer. I was really hoping that they'd keep it active.

That is the plan. A short weekend trip. I wonder if all the exhibits will be finished. If not I guess I'll just have to go back next year.  :D

I've been in today. Still looks to be a few bits to finish. A few multimedia features still being finished off by the tech guys and a few graphics panels missing from some displays. Timing messed up on the entrance feature too. I'm sure they will get all this sorted for the opening. Very very impressed with what I saw. Highly recommended :)
