Would love to.

I have always configed this away in the past, but I think they may have removed the setting for that at some point.

It would be helpful if the file attachment upload facility would include TIFF's and AutoCAD .DWG formats.
Sometimes I just flat out don't get it.

The workaround I've been using is to append a fake ".jpg" file extension, and the system uploads it without an image, leaving the user to strip off the fake extension. Easy to do, but still, it should be seamless, along with a preview.

Not sure where to post this, I have been getting this error whenever our I access https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php since Wednesday, I am located in Bangalore, India.

At first I thought it must be some temporary issue with NSF/my ISP/computer, but it has been the same from multiple computers and ISPs. Then I tried via VPN and am able to access the site normally.

Is it some problem with Cloudfare CDN or something else? Please also let me know the right place to report this.

I have never posted with image, hope it is visible as attachment. In case the image is not visible, this what the error is:

Access denied Error code 1020

I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but the Cloudflare System Status says:

Guess not, because it currently says "Bangalore, India - (BLR) Operational"

Chris says its Cloudfare geoblocking India due to spammers, anyway will continue with VPN for now.

Note SMF Version 2.1.0 and feature patch 2.1.1 was released to General Availability. The forum should hopefully consider making the schueduling arrangements in the near future to perform the SMF software upgrades.

Hi,
  I like using dark mode except the text in quotes in the forum is black on a dark background.
I have to highlight the text to read it. Is there a way to all changing the quoted text to a light gray or something like that?
If not - that is my suggestion :)

Thanks !

Seconded.  And I'm a photographer who uses a calibrated screen, and have the same issue.

My issue for a while now is that when I'm posting there will as often as not be multiple blank lines where I pressed the enter key ONCE to start a new thought - NOT in the NSF reply editor but in the actual post. There's no way for me to even know it happened (because it looks fine in the editor) except to post it and then go back and look for it. If there's multiple blank lines then to fix it I have to edit the post to remove the extra empty lines.

Yes, I'm getting that also.  It was working fine, then I started getting that error.

Tweetdeck still works (for now).  (I'm on the old Tweetdeck.)

Edit: Tweetdeck is dead now also.

Thanks for the confirmation. Probably not NSF related and just a Twitter-side issue it seems.

Also a reminder that all those Twitter links are fragile and quoting the content is important (as was the case here, thanks).

IIRC Somewhere in this thread, there was a discussion on acronyms, abbreviations etc. While there is an acronym thread there was a discussion on “hovering over the acronym to display it’s meaning”.  To the best of my memory this was tested a decade ago on this forum and I cannot find it, sorry.  Chris B. I believe mentioned that it was too much drain on the server, or something like that. The situation might be different now. Cheers.

This is directly supported in HTML, e.g. <abbr title="Coordinated Universal Time">UTC</abbr>, so there wouldn't be any drain on the server because it's all done in the browser.

https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Abbr shows that it should work as
[abbr="Coordinated Universal Time"]UTC[/abbr]

However I put in that code I get this:

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)

It is displaying to me as:

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)

... at least in the post preview. That's not the way that the wiki page shows that it should work. The example on the wiki page does it as a hover. I'm going to post this and see if it's maybe just the preview not working correctly.

Edit: Nope, the posted message shows it the same as the preview. :(

There is a similar construct using the acronym tag:
[acronym=Coordinated Universal Time]UTC[/acronym]

This also does not work.

It's likely that the webmaster has disabled these two features.  Anyway, who is going to go to all that trouble just to annotate their posts?
