Kirasich said that test put “a relatively large amount of fuel” into a cloud of oxygen, triggering the detonation. “That was an operational and planning oversight. SpaceX, in the early days, goes for speed above systems engineering rigor,” he said, calling it a “pause and learn” event for SpaceX.“They’ve since elevated the level of systems engineering put into each one of these tests, as well as brought in some new leadership into the team down there,” he said, resulting in “additional rigor” in subsequent tests. That incident also attracted the attention of NASA’s Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel. A member of the panel, Paul Hill, mentioned it at the panel’s Oct. 27 public meeting. “SpaceX is still pursuing an aggressive Starship development test plan, but this failure resulted in corrective actions to increase systems engineering and risk management rigor,” he said.

Huh? Context on the Taco truck?
#Starship is frosty in #Starbase! The @NASASpaceflight team will turn on our mics in 15mins (3pm EDT/19:00 UTC) to take your questions about today's test and discuss the recent NASA timeline for Starship's path to orbit!LIVE coverage & Q&A:
Ship 24 says "I want in on some of this cryo action!"
Ship 24's methane tank is also getting frosty now. LOX side of the tank farm is quiet. Seems like they are only testing the fuel systems.
Primary Date: Road Closure Scheduled. Beach Closed for Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
Cryogenic proof testing of Ship 25, as well as the combined Booster 7 and Ship 24 stack continued. Meanwhile Ship 26's transfer tube was installed.Video + Photos from Nic (@NicAnsuini), Chris K (@chrisk_91) and Starbase Live for @NASASpaceflight.➡️
Stabilizer pins have been added onto the brand new booster transport stand. As far as we know, B9 and up will not use this same mechanism. So this transport stand is likely being prepared for B7 to be taken back off of the OLM soon. B7's transport stand was donated to B9📸:S0Z
Starbase Launch Site Sunrise 🤩 We're hoping the next milestone will be the destacking of Ship24 to allow for further Static Fire testing on Booster 7. Keeping an eye on it via 24/7 Live: nsf.live/starbase@NASASpaceflight
