They've let that BBC local radio guy on again! :D (His station won't be covering anything outside of Devon)
In his defence, he did ask very interesting & relevant questions.

American Marine out of Los Angeles are the recovery contractor.

No one knows what the secret payload for the crew was.

This Dragon won't be used again. NASA contract calls for all the Dragon's to be new builds. Could look to refurbish, maybe for DragonLab.

Even if Dragon is lost (Marcia Dunn question), the mission would still be a success. Hoping for the best, but regardless this mission has been a success.

Comparing Entry with that of Shuttle (heating, G Forces).

Max daylight in the recovery zone tomorrow. Good sea states in the morning.

Next F9 is at the Cape. Next Dragon (CRS-1) will ship early Q3.

Dragon above mins and profile for fuel.

No nicknames for the Dragons.

Over.

We're going by Eastern Daylight Time right now -- see Chris's post just above with the TV schedule that notes times of milestones in Central time.

(Heh, and that's EST.)

Didn't see Bill Harwood's more detailed timeline (dated May 29) for unberthing to splashdown posted - here's the link:

http://www.cbsnews.com/network/news/space/home/spacenews/files/spacex_dragon_splashdown_timeline.html

Seems to be a difference between the SSRMS release time and that given in the slide shown during the presser.

HA. Thanking me isn't updates!!! :o

(Appreciate it though!! ;D)
(Uh oh, this post isn't an update either! :D)

Coming to the end of this thread now. Some interesting visitation notes. Launch was around a Shuttle launch level (but not as much as STS-135, unsurprisingly). Berthing was more than a Shuttle docking (first time, so not surprising). During the "docked" phase was very different to shuttle, but 53,000 views for this thread is more than expected, given the lack of EVAs and such.

Re-entry will be interesting. Very early morning US time again will hit live numbers, but that's the good thing about these threads, people can wake up and catch up.

Josh Byerly just emailed me that entry comm will be via a TDRSS link. So Dragon MCC should have good data almost all the way down.

Sounds like we'll have good coverage of reentry/recovery, even if it's not live coverage. Couluris said multiple aircraft, including a SpaceX "jet" will attempt to doucument the landing. Also, P-3 Orion(s), perhaps he was referring to Cast Glance:

http://www.nasa.gov/centers/langley/news/researchernews/rn_Endeavorthirm.html

will also attempt to doucument, as well as HD camera(s) aboard the recovery barge.

Lots more hi res photos posted on the HSF site

Hadn't realised that the trunk section wasn't a truly cylindrical shape but has flat sides.

In his defence, he did ask very interesting & relevant questions.

That could include holiday homes for people from Bristol.  Concorde and Harrier were made in Bristol.
