That would be good, if it's the single point of failure, but using one source, per twitter is very dangerous. Officially there's no update yet.

FYI: Just heard over the scanner that there likely won't be any Xenons on tonight, as they don't need them. Oh well.

Not official/definitive, but an indication of where this is heading......it's looking like the LCA is the root cause of Endeavour's APU heater issue, according to engineers in L2 (not single source - which is important).

Because they are still looking at foward paths for this, and the need for it to be official/definitive (still testing the system), don't go ruling out Monday as a launch date yet, but clearly the box being a problem is the one that needs more work, so it's not looking amazingly hopeful for Monday.

They'll probably decide and call it at the 10:30am presser. Anything official ahead of the presser, I'll post it.

Word on the scanner that there's a meeting of a large bunch of people between 22:00 & 22:30 (EDT). Missed the intent, but it sounded important enough to mention here.

Scanner update: wave of tankers heading to the pad area. Obviously topping up the spheres.

So does that mean they fixed the problem and are filling up the tanks for a Monday launch?

No, they'll of already ordered the prop in and it's a good time to fill up the spheres.

Problem is not fixed.

Hey KEdward5, can you please explain "prop in" and "fill up the spheres"?

I can ;)

They have waves of tankers full of propellant which fill up the round spheres in the launch complex. They have to keep filling them up as it naturally boils off.

And to update things, a 7am management meeting has begun. Hybrid drivers on the LCA are the likely problem. NET May 8 mentioned, but standby, not official.

Thanks Chris, and thanks for the explanation about the propellant.

Sry for the delay, just woke up, lol. When we scrub they automatically send tankers from the plant. Then we'll put them in the tank either after launch or when we have an extended scrub, so that we can preserve the option for as many attempts (usually 3) in a row as possible.

STS-134 now NET May 8. If that can't be reached, it'll be May 10.

Aft LCA is going to be R&R'ed, no small task and will require the previously mentioned two day retest on top.

Article on shortly. This thread will continue through the presser at 10:30am Eastern, then we'll move to the troubleshooting thread.

I know we are still speculating for now, but does anyone know what the launch window is for next week *if* May 8th is selected as the new date two hours from now?
