Weather update:

Wind direction/speed is valid to 1 a.m. (if I happen to be awake, I'll post an update on that).

Summarize version:
Here’s a summary of the weather update:

Light Rain: A decaying cold front will bring light rain to San Luis Obispo County this afternoon through mid-evening, mainly from Morro Bay north to Monterey County. Expect a few hundredths of an inch of rain, ending by midnight.

Weekend Rain: Another decaying cold front may bring light rain to San Luis Obispo County this weekend, especially from Saturday afternoon into the evening. Santa Barbara County has a slight chance of light rain, but it's unlikely to extend below Point Conception.

Santa Ana Winds: A moderate Santa Ana event is expected to develop from Tuesday into Tuesday night, with the strongest winds over Eastern Ventura and Western Los Angeles Counties. Wind gusts may reach up to 60 mph in the Santa Monica and Santa Susana Mountains and along the Malibu Coast, where a High Wind Warning is in effect. Other Los Angeles and Ventura Counties areas may see gusts up to 45-50 mph, with Wind Advisories issued for those regions.

Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
433 PM PST Mon Dec 16 2024

.SYNOPSIS...16/431 PM.

There will be a chance of light rain over the Central Coast this
evening, and again for next weekend. It will be fairly warm this
week, with gusty Santa Ana winds at times in the wind- prone
areas, peaking Tuesday night into Wednesday. Otherwise, the
remainder of the area will remain dry for the next 7 days.

&&

.SHORT TERM (TDY-THU)...16/250 PM.

A decaying cold front over NorCal this afternoon will bring areas
of light rain to San Luis Obispo County late this afternoon and
into the mid evening, mainly from Morro Bay north to Monterey
County. The rain will amount to a few hundredths of an inch before
it comes to an end by midnight.

Besides the light rain possible in SLO County this evening, there
will be another chance for light rainfall over SLO County this
weekend, as another decaying cold front from the north moves along
the Central Coast, mainly from Saturday afternoon into Saturday
evening. There will be a slight chance of light rain in Santa
Barbara County as well, but forecaster confidence of much
moisture reach below Point Conception is very low at this
juncture.

A moderate Santa Ana event is slated to develop Tuesday into
Tuesday night as a strong surface high pressure system develops
over the Great Basin. Offshore gradients will peak around 7 to 8
mb both from the northwest and northeast with this event. This
will focus the areas of strongest winds mainly over Eastern
Ventura and Western Los Angeles Counties.

This high pressure system over the Great Basin will bring an
overall moderate Santa Ana event, with the highest offshore wind
gusts...around 60 mph...expected to occur over the Santa Monica
and Santa Susana Mountains, and along the Malibu Coast. For these
areas, a High Wind Warning has been hoisted for the time of the
strongest winds, which looks to be from Tuesday late afternoon
through Wednesday early evening. Other offshore wind gust prone
areas in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties will see wind gusts
mainly up to 45 to 50 mph, which areas are covered with wind
advisories, designating the areas where strong winds will still be
a concern for anyone outdoors during the strongest wind times.

And did you know this was @SpaceX's 22nd flight for the first stage booster, and was previously flown for NROL-113 & NROL-167? 😮
