NASA Kennedy
A Florida East Coast locomotive pulls into the rail yard at NASA's Kennedy Space Center carrying an electronic testbed version of a U.S. Navy Trident D5 submarine-launched ballistic missile. The inert missile will be used to evaluate the new interactive test facility at the Naval Ordnance Test Unit, or NOTU, located at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station adjacent to the space center. The space center, which has transformed into a multi-user spaceport servicing numerous launch vehicles, spacecraft and companies, retains numerous transportation hubs including the railway system that connects the center to the Florida mainland and the rest of the Florida East Coast railroad network.
